Great Headset for the Xbox One

    Posted .

I bought this headset the day it came out, and overall I am very pleased with this purchase. I am not going to lie, I was expecting more from this headset than I received, but I still get what I need from it. This is a good start to the headsets for the Xbox one as you don't need batteries for this wireless headset like previous wireless headsets. It simply connects to your controller and uses the battery life from the controller...and surprisingly, it doesn't drain the battery life quickly. I have the plug and play charge kit for my controller anyway so kuddos to Turtle Beach for making the setup this way as it will save me $$$. The only downside is there isn't bass adjustment or treble like other headset models. You can only adjust the game and chat volumes, however the sound is great. I use this headset for Call of Duty and I saw instant improvement in my game play with this headset. I can easily hear people around me and even pin point where their exact location is. This headset is a must have for any first person shooter game player. I talked to my buddy who purchased the XO Fours and he returned them for the Sevens saying they weren't very comfortable. Happy gaming

Great headset for a true gamer

I was debating on getting these Turtlebeach XO Sevens by reading all the reviews I could. I read couple reviews on here saying you can't hear yourself talking. To me I believe thats a good thing because that proves that these headsets do eliminate outside sound. That way all your attention is focused on the sound and game around you. I used these headsets to play Call of Duty Ghosts and I can't tell you how many times I heard enemy footsteps around me as it was easier to take them out. As for set up, I was searching on the headset where to plug in the charger cable to charge them as I wasn't finding it anywhere. Then I realized they don't need to be charged as they work directly from your Xbox One controller. That makes it so much easier as I don't have to worry about the headset dying out on me in the middle of a game. I'm glad I got these headsets when I did and I don't regret this purchase at all. Now I'm just waiting on Titanfall to come out and game with those headsets on :D . If you're a serious gamer then I defiantly recommend these headsets. Communication is key when playing online, so don't be afraid to talk :D #GameOn

    Excellent value priced headset

I bought the XO Seven headset the first day it released so I have had about 2 months with it now. It is a very nice headset for the price but I also own Astro A50's and there is a noticeable difference between the two. First off, the Turtle Beach's are excellent and I would be more than satisfied with them if I had never bought the Astro's and experienced surround sound. The XO Sevens work great and really enhance your overall gaming experience. I like the build and the leather/pleather memory foam ear cushions. They are the one thing besides price point that I wish my Astro's had. I have played some 6-8hr gaming sessions and really do not notice them draining my controller battery too much. The braided breakaway cord is a nice touch. My only issue with them would be the lack of surround sound but if you have never used a headset with surround then you'll most likely be completely satisfied with the XO 7.

    Great buy!

After using these for a few months now, I am extremely happy with my purchase. Honestly these are the best sounding headsets I've ever had so far. The bass is great and not overpowered. The sound is very very crisp and you can hear every angle. For those who are planning on getting these headsets, they also include an extra cable for mobile use and you will still get great sound. Comfort wise...VERY COMFORTABLE. I was worried since previous turtle beaches were very uncomfortable after long periods of gaming. It is memory foam so it keeps a nice snug fit. GREAT for canceling out sound. Not just outside sound, but also from the headset. As in if you like your sound LOUD, it cancels out the sound so others can't hear it. There are 4 settings for game volume options. I would suggest setting 3. It has treble and bass boost. If you just want bass boost, then setting 2 will fit what you need. I personally just like balance between the two. DON'T LISTEN TO THE BAD REVIEWS. "It's not 7.1 surround sound!" It is. "Terrible sound quality!" It's actually the best I've heard. Either they did something wrong or they had it shipped to them. (I never have electronics shipped to me. Too many risks) All in all, to end this review, I highly recommend these headsets to anyone either for gaming, music, or both.

Better than just buying the Xbox One Adapter.

Great headset! I was going to buy the Xbox One adapter for my Turtle Beach XP400 headset but decided I wanted the latest gaming sound for Titanfall. Headset is super easy to setup as stated in other reviews and the sound quality is awesome. You can tell Microsoft and Turtle Beach made sure these headsets were built well and very comfortable. Also comes with a mobile gaming cord so you can use with your tablet, portable gaming device or smart phone. Microphone is removable so you can also use just for movies or music with out the mic hanging there. Watching Hunger Games: Catching Fire and sounds great. Also side plates can be swapped out so you can customize your headset via the Turtle Beach website. Well hope the review helps.

Good headset, a little too pricey

    Posted .

First off, I really, really like this headset. If the cost for this were $40-$50 less MSRP, it would easily be the best headset on the market. However, the sound quality is a bit sub-par given the price tag. For the record, I was able to pick this up at Best Buy for $109 a few weeks back using a gamer's club discount of $30 and a sale of $20 off. I had been monitoring prices for this for months and this was by far the lowest I've ever seen it. Sound Quality - 3 stars This headset sounds great for gaming and if that's all you are using it for, you'll be pleased with the sound. I, however, am using this as headphones to listen to music for extended periods of time. The sound is decent, but I would expect much better quality from a $159 headset. I often hear the audio scratching at high points in songs, listening at reasonable levels of course. Mic Quality - 5 stars This is the shining achievement of the headset. I've tested this with my mobile phone and my Xbox 1 with great results for both. Background noise is cut out and the voice quality on the other end is very crisp and clear. Build Quality - 5 stars This is a high end headset and it feels like it. Nice and cushy at all contact points. The removable mic is great and snaps into place very nicely. The breakaway cable is a nice addition with the fabric cord being extremely durable. Comfortability - 4 stars I wear the headset for long periods of time, often 5+ hours at a time. I do find the headset extremely comfortable. However, after about an hour of use, my ears and head need a break. My ears get hot and often itchy. I suppose this limitation exists with just about any headset but it is a little irritating at times. I do have an abnormally large head and I did find the headset needed to be "broken in". The first few days of use gave me minor discomfort as the headset was virtually pinching my head. That went away fairly quickly as they stretched some and seems fine now. Other Notes Just to clarify, a lot of reviews point out that there is no talk back feature for the headset. In other words, you can't hear your own voice through the headset when you are chatting on the Xbox 1. This is NOT the fault of the headset. This is a shortfall of the Xbox 1 and every headset used with the Xbox 1 through the controller adapter will share this shortfall. Talk back works fine on my mobile device. One thing I was surprised about with this headset was a lack of a caring case. Since I bring my headset with me just about everywhere I go, I would very much have preferred some sort of case option. Even if it was an extra accessory from Turtle Beach, I would have been happy with that. Instead I'll be gambling on a third party case or risking them getting damaged in my backpack.

    Decent

This is a decent headset, but way to pricey. I have a few complaints. First of all, it gets very uncomfortable for me very quickly. It honestly feels way to heavy for my liking. Next, I cannot hear myself talk. I end up shouting way to often and annoy people because of it. Finally, it does not fit well with the Xbox One chat adapter. The chord for the headset is bent at the tip, which makes it twist inside the adapter. I've had to replace my adapter already because of it. There are some positives as well. The design is nice. I like that I can take it wherever I go and listen to music. Also, the mic works well. However in my opinion I would recommend getting the Astro A40s for just 40 bucks more. Haven't seen many bad reviews.

After trying this headset out on a variety of different games, I am pleased to say I am very impressed with the quality and performance of this headset. Not only are they built very rugged and tough, but the Turtle Beach XO Seven Pros are super comfortable and fit snugly on my head. Coming from a music producer, I think the headset sounds fantastic for gaming. I use this headset with my Xbox One Elite Controller, and it is a perfect combo! Totally worth a buy if you plan to use them often and don't want to worry about breaking them.

I've had two Turtle beach headsets over the years, and can not say a bad word about them. They sound amazing, and you can hear things impossible to hear through the best surround sound systems! I pre ordered the XO Seven, and can't wait to get them. I am hard on my headsets, and the support is top notch. I needed two get a replacement part, went to the web site, ordered what I needled, and it was delivered in two days! Awesome!

This is my very first real headset. The default set from MS felt like it was crushing my ears. Was on the fence between these and the Polk 4Shot, and I'm glad I chose these after seeing the problems with Polk's headset. Sound is great and after the update, the virtual surround sound is pretty good. Haven't noticed any decrease in battery life. Friends can hear me just fine even if the mic isn't right in front of my mouth. You won't be disappointed with this set.

    Heavy, hurts head, loose connector

I was excited to get this but it has some major design and technical flaws, returning them today. Here it goes: 1. The first thing you will notice is they are heavy, due to this, the top band cushion of the head set always puts a pressure on the top of your head. God knows why they have a thick stitching on the top band faux leather too, which in an hour becomes incredibly uncomfortable. 2. If you have a new xbox controller with 3.5 mm jack or theelite controller....this is not for you. the part that fits on your controller is loose and when you try and push it in it will give you ear bleeding distortion in the middle of the game. This is I think due to the static between the 3.5 mm jack in controller and the male connector of the headset.(it worked just fine with my old controller without 3.5mm jack hole) 3. For the price not getting a wireless headset and getting one which does not connects well and gives you a headache is a strict no-no! Do not buy these if you have a large head, and yeah...definitely not recommended.

I got these headphones like 8 months ago and i will never use another Xbox one headset EVER again!! I will always stick with Turtle beach headphones. After a long period of time i have to take them off for a few minutes to let my ears and head rest. But they are comfortable and i actually feel like i am in a war zone when i have them on. Great purchase!!

This is the first Turtle Beach headset I've own so I can't compare to previous models. As a first time owner, I'm very impressed with these. They fit perfect, sound great, and are very comfortable. Plus it comes with the adapter so if I choose to use one of my other headsets I can.

Well let me say that I love the sound from this headset. It has a great bass response and really crisp clean sound. My only issue is that I have a very large head(7 3/4 fitted cap). They tend to be a little tight but seem to be breaking in slowly but surely.

well besides having the biggest issue with store 452 as in they said my preorder was there but it wasn't, and i had tried to call several times after the supposed release date finally got a nice lady "Debbie" to cancel my order and place a separate order at a different store 450. i got my headset and they work great they don't cut out and the sound is just fine bass and everything matched great easy controls to change sound and just wow im not happy about the extra wait but best buy customer service made up for that. thanks again debbie for your help and to people who rated before this came out come on you really think that you had them before anyone else did? get real these are better than my wired head set hands down. oh and they are great on other devices too great sound for phone calls and music
