    Great for gaming!!

I bought my XO Seven's last week and I love them. My only issues with these are the fact that they get VERY uncomfortable on your ears and top of head (at least for me) after using them for about 2-3 hours. It seriously feels like someone has been pressing their finger on the top of my head for hours!! Sure it's easy to fix by adjusting the lengh, but then they dont fit snug on my head anymore. I really hope this is just an issue cause their new and need to get broken in. I used the X12's for my 360 for years and I can say these work great for gaming and you can hear everything. Just wish my head didnt hurt so bad after using them....

    Good while they lasted

I would stay away from these headphones if I were you. They were good while they lasted but left earpiece does't work after about 4 months using them only 2 to 3 times a week for a couple hours at most. For $150 I expected these to at least last, considering how little I used them. Save your money and get something else. I've been using the Hyper x cloud 2 for about the same time but much more frequently on ps4 and pc and they still work great, sound better than these and cost $50 less.

    Awesome headset

BUY PLAY AND CHARGE KIT . You will need it because the headset kills regular batteries way too quick . I experienced a lot of distortion at first, but I didn't know you had to update the controls before using the headset . The update fixed the distortion . After the update it was smooth sailing ! This is my first headset and the sound quality is awesome ! Played a few hours of Battlefield 1 and you can hear EVERYTHING . This is also my first review .

Not worth the $160 price tag

I have had 3 turtle beach headsets now, with this (the xo seven) being the third, the other two were a X32 & X42. I do alot of console gaming, formally the xbox 360,; now with the PS4 & XBOX One. And i must say, if I were to list the three turtle beach headsets I've had in order of best to worst, the XO Seven has to be the worst of the three. I just purchased this headset today, and when I like the way the headset was packaged, unfortunately for turtle beach, I'm not playing with the packaging. One big thing I'd like to point out is the sound quality isn't the same as the others I've had. I'm hoping it's because the XO Seven is NOT a dolby surround sound headset, but a $160 stereo headset. Trust me, in games like COD AND Battlefield 4, You NEED the "surround sound" I'm talking about. The quality of the unit itself I thought was great, strong plastics, well put together. The new threading used on the cords is nice to see, especially with pets. It plays music fine, I just don't care for it from the gaming world of things, chat and in game audio needs to be improved. One other thing that bothers me that's not a BIG deal is the color scheme. I think that black and white should be the new colors for future xbox one turtle beach headsets. I am going to be returning this tomorrow, I would recommend for a great turtle beach headset, X42, although to use it with the xbox one, you will need to purchase the xbox one controller adapter from xbox.com I believe it's $25. COME ON TURTLE BEACH, GIVE US A HEADSET THATS AT LEAST WORTH THE $160 BUCKS.

On Par With Older Headsets That Sold 4 3Xs More

I have been buying Turtle Beach products for about a decade now, and for sound alone and overall this thing is great. The last pair I bought I believe were the xp700 series for call of duty. Those things brand new were like four or five hundred dollars. Batteries for the headset and u had to connect stuff to the back of the console. This thing is simplistic in design and the sound is on par with the older devices that would sell for 3Xs as much. Must buy for any serious gamer.

Bought a $80 ear force one and it was junk. This headset is made very well and is comfortable. It comes with a mic adapter, or use mic jack on newer controllers. Plug and play.

Not as good as my X12s

Keep in mind, I primarily play Battlefield 4... that's it. Well, the actual "sound quality" is FANTASTIC. I was also really surprised by the amount of bass these things put out. You're actual weapon now has some serious kick to it when you fire. Plus it was really easy to setup. I also love that it's just one cable to the controller. Now, compared to my old DX12s, these don't offer exact object/event positioning while playing and yes, I do understand that these are STEREO and not surround. The biggest difference is that when something is traveling from one side to the other, it's not a smooth sound transition from one ear to the other, it's pretty abrupt. I mean, you can clearly hear it in one ear, then, all of the sudden, in the other. Also, when an object's sound is played from both ear pieces equally, you can't tell if it's in front of you or behind. Other times, I heard a helicopter really loud and I turn to look for it only to see that it's very far in the distance, not close enough to warrant the sound level being played. When I picked these headsets up today, I first played an hour using my home-theater system, then I switched to the headsets and it made everything feel very "flat" with a lack of depth. Maybe it takes some getting used to, or maybe I'm doing something wrong, who knows. Either way, I'm going to continue to use the headsets to see if I start to get used to the change. At that point I'll update my review here. In the end, I still don't regret purchasing these, I only hope that Microsoft does another update to allow true surround to be bit-streamed into these headsets. They are comfortable, easy to use and the speakers sound incredible.

This hotel is relatively inexpensive and does a great job for positional situations games. Are used for rainbow six seeds and you're able to hear where everybody is coming from where sounds are being made and anticipate the enemy before they reach the room. I know that this is only a stereo headset but they've come a long way from stereo does a great job creating a virtual surround sound field five stars

This is my first best buy review. Because I don't want people to buy into the hype of these headsets. Xo seven. U can't hear yourself talk it's like your ears are plugged. No presets that previous turtle beaches used to have. No surround sound functionality. The sound is way to high. Where did the bass go?! It's powered by the controller so when u navigate through the menu u get a buzz noise. The peak volume is not loud enough... I tried to look for a option to turn them up louder. Please don't buy these headsets. Turtle beach can do better then this. This is a step in the wrong direction!

At first I was really blown away by these head phones. I've owned turtle beaches in the past and always LOVED them. This pair fell WAY below the bar especially for being there best for the Xbox One. The biggest miss for this product for me was No split cord for audio and mic for PC support No in line volume/master volume Cloth ear cover. That p/leather is annoying and builds a thin bead of sweat after a few hours of gaming. If they had those 3 things they would easily be one of the best headphones for gaming hands down. But because of these key features I strongly suggest looking at another pair.

These are really good headphones.. I used them to play COD and I could hear everything clearly. From foot steps behind me to gun shots to the left or right of me. I really enjoyed them but i had to return it because it really hurt my ears after 30 mins of use.

Good Concept, Wait for Turtle Beach to Improve

I had been waiting for these to come out for months now. I have always been leery about splurging on a beloved Turtle Beach headset that everybody raves about and says is a must have for any FPS gamer. The demo units in the store sound bad, but I figured they should be better in practice when I can tune the controls to my liking. When I got them, I hooked them up to my phone and played some music. They have very good bass and sound quality. It is also nice to see a headset that doesn't require additional hookups other than a 3.5 mm headphone jack. They are not wireless, but having the cable only go to the controller is a nice compromise. Since the sound comes through the controller, you need to mute your surround sound system or sound will play through both. The adapter that plugs into the controller is nice and easy to use. It looks almost exactly like the one used on the included headset that comes with the Xbox One. You can control game and chat volume independently, but no customization beyond that. I found that gun shots were too loud relative to footsteps in Call of Duty: Ghosts. Coming from 5.1 surround sound, some sounds were more pronounced, but positional audio was substandard. Can definitely tell that the sound is only coming from 2 speakers. There were a few times where I could hear people running around me, but could not tell exactly where they were like I would be able to do with my speakers. I finally figured out where they were when I got a knife in the back. The very next game I played was a close one that was coming down to the wire. With around 5 kills to go before the game ended, I heard a loud humming noise and "Please Reconnect Controller" showed up on my screen. My controller still had plenty of battery power, but for whatever reason, the headset had caused the controller to fault. I think I unplugged the headset and plugged it back in and it worked again, but the game ended in the process and we lost by 1 point. I will be returning these to the store tomorrow.

When I first got these I thought they were ok, then I did the controller update and I thought they were great. However, I plugged in a pair of $30 ear buds with built in mic I use for my phone and got the same experience, but without the earphone hair. I previously had a pair of X41 which sounded awesome when playing COD. These earphones are way overpriced and will eventually hurt Turtle Beach's reputation. I would return my set if I wasn't past the return period.

I have had these now for almost a year now and love the sound but basically didn't fulfill the reason why I got them. I had a pair of afterglow and they were good but uncomfortable after wearing them for at least 20 mins or so. Being that these were "mlg" preferred I figured they would be more comfortable. Definitely not the case.. I wish Xbox and PlayStation would just allow you to use any headphones. Wish I could use my power beats and just call it day!

I purchased these headphones cause I am a fan of turtle beaches. The X12 were the best and so i tried these for my xbox one. The sound is great. The only problem is the cheap material used on the height adjust. Its cheap. I've only had these for 3 months and the right side has completely snapped and the left is very close to doing the same.
