This works better than I expected. Since [affordable] PCs & Laptops seem to be coming with less and less on board storage, I bought this to see whether I could store & run games from this drive. It might not be *as* good as running them from an SSD, but it is certainly more than sufficient. And now, I can take this between my laptop and desktop and save storage space on my PC for the launchers and other programs I need for school. I'll take a barely noticeable dip in loading speed for this convenience.

I've bought a couple of these over the past few years, and so far they've been invaluable in helping me save lots of video files, documents, and images, all in varying sizes. They're very easy to use!

There is not much to describe. We all look for good quality, price, and performance. This one has all 3. The quality is well known. The price is better when it is on sale. And the performance is 115 Mb/s Read and 110 Mb/s Write which I believe is fantastic for a USB 3.0 mechanical disk drive. I travel a lot so this drive had seen 26-degree weather as well as 126-degree weather. It stays in my backpack and gets beat up a lot. However, there are no bad sectors and it performs as it was just made.

As always, you can't go wrong with the WD external hard drives. Great speed in processing and very reliable.

There’s so many different storage devices to choose from. Many of them make tons of promises. I will say that when it comes to performance and consistency WD is top notch. I use the storage device for my pro tools music sessions and I also run my daw through my WD and not the HD on my Mac and this lil baby gets the job 100% done with no lag or loss of data and files. Not to mention have a 1,000 gb’s doesn’t hurt for storing extra miscellaneous files. Great purchase amazing product!

The drive connects via USB 3.0, offering decent read/write speeds for a spinning hard drive—typically around 100-120 MB/s in real-world use. It’s not SSD-fast, but it’s more than capable for backing up files, storing photos and videos, or expanding console/PC storage. It’s compact and lightweight, making it easy to carry around. The plastic casing feels a bit basic, but that’s expected in this price range. It’s unobtrusive and gets the job done

This is my second WD external drive though this one is twice the capacity. One of my ongoing fears is the loss of my family pictures and videos and though I have those files backed up on a second computer, my angst of losing them, especially should my two laptops be damaged or stolen, is the overwhelming reason to back those files and keep them in a different location (not even in my house). The WD drives work very well and have great capacity for just about anyone's photo and/or video files.

East to set up, using for my Xbox. Plugged it in and followed prompts. Got lots of storage now at a good price

This external drive is fast and takes up little room. The drive is fast enough to move large video files with out a lag.

I absolutely love this product! I have to move a large amount of files with large sizes (lots of audio and video projects). The transfer speed is amazing, and I've had no issues with moving files between various different PC's.
