If you are working from home, you absolutely need a reliable external backup. This thing has saved my bacon more than once. Compact and relatively fast with USB 3.0. The included Western Digital Backup software isn't pretty, but it flat works, far superior to Microsoft Backup and File History in my experience. Cheap enough to fill up and archive and buy a new one - which is exactly what I'm doing today.

Picked this little guy up for Time Machine backups on my Mac. Works great on PCs, too. Fast. Nice, compact size. Backup your stuff by keeping all your stuff on at least 2 separate drives, at the same time. Cloud is OK, but usually limited storage. And... have you ever tried to get 2TB of stuff off the cloud? Takes forever. Get your stuff back in a fraction of the time.

what a great add. after putting many random files on a too-large collection of flash drives, decided needed to put all my music in a single place. (now i need to get a record player/digital recorder to capture my LPs) simple set up and more than enough space to keep collecting. (it's not hoarding when its digital, right?) the ease and price make this a best buy!

Nothing to set up, just plug it in and start using it. I am using the external hard drive as a backup and to move data from my old computers to new ones.

I bought this drive to provide external storage for my new Xbox One X, for music, videos, etc. Installation was easy - just plugged it in. The Xbox immediately recognized it. There was no need to do anything else! I have been using WD external drives for over 20 years, and not once have had any kind of problem. For those looking to expand the drive capacity of their Xbox One X (or S), I strongly recommend this unit.

Purchased this to be able to store videos that I have made so as not to take up more storage space on my Mac. Took a little while to setup, but now works fine. Great having all the videos in one place where I can easily find and retrieve them. Looking for an additional unit and will definitely purchase again.

I bought this to store all the data from my old laptop when I got a new one. I wanted to wipe the old laptop clean before passing it along to my niece. I transferred all the files from my old laptop to the drive for safe keeping. Later I transferred only the items that I wanted from this hard drive to my new laptop. Was very easy to use and the 2TB pretty much guarantees that I will never run out of space.

There are no instructions included. Instead you get an arbitration agreement in a dozen different languages. But it also gives you a link a support page and instructions on how to format the drive for Mac, PC and for both Mac and PC. I did it for both and both computers the Mac and the PC can read and write from the drive. I am filling it up with stuff and it seems to work well. I am pleased with it.
