Started giving me problems by saying it was corrupt and needed to be fixed, now it just makes a funny noise when its plugged in and my ps4 doesn't even show it hooked up. Over 3tb of data gone.. free games downloaded over the year from ps plus, saves, movies, pictures.. all gone. Don't waste your money.

Drive was bad

Perfect and Essential upgrade for a PS4 PRO owner!

Until about 2021, 1TB seemed like enough. Then along comes lots of cool games, taking from 50-150 GB each (many less than 30 GB too). Suddenly, that 1TB inside was not useful as I had to delete and download over and over which was a hassle. My internet has a download cap too so that wasn't helping. But I could add more storage and I decided to go with the WD - Game Drive for PS4 External USB 3.0 Portable Hard Drive - Black/Blue. The blue color was nice too and it was much more affordable than any SSD. I did not upgrade/update the internal storage of the PS4 PRO. I thought 2TB would be enough but estimated I had 1.73TB of games I wanted downloaded, so I opted for the 4TB model which was more expensive, but as it turns out worth it. Every penny. The drive is quiet, reliable, fast enough, especially on a PS4 PRO, and is 2.76TB full with room to spare for more games. In total I have 5TB with the internal storage and I'm set. I now have room to download movies too ! All good.

Never worked

Hard Drive stopped working after 2 months
