One of the best purchases I've made

Has flaws
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. If you are wanting to start backing up from this point forward it works great and is not hard to set up. I wanted however to transfer all my files on my computer to this device and then have it regularly back up after that. Because you can only transfer via wifi (cannot through a cord of any kind) it would freeze or have an interruption and then say "error" and nothing would be there.

Great product
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Although the bad hdd was a great product, it was not what I was looking for. It requires an external power supply and I was looking for something that would power from usb. As I said it was a great product and super fast.

Easy setup. Fair amount of storage for the price.
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. My Cloud seems to take forever to back up. After approx. 12 - 15 hours of back up time, I called WD customer support. Polite, but not very helpful. Works well if you have the time to be without full computer access while it is backing up. After checking further, I have been informed by more than one source that the lengthy back up time is normal. I have yet to use the other features.

Awesome simple storage device for home.
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I picked this up because it supports media content and it works with my wife's mac computer. I can setup her time machine and not worry about it. It has lots of features and the media server works with all my other devices.

Just what I wanted
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. As I read reviews about MyCloud, I wasn't shure if I should invest in one of this devises, taking into account I don't leave home without my IPAD. Now, on the go, my IPAD "grew" to more than 2TB memory. Great buy!

Great for a SOHO
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought 2 of these. One 4 TB and the other 2 TB. For a small office I work with and the other for personal use. They were easy to set up and with good network you can access your files at a descent speed - remotely or locally. So far I have encountered no issues with either of them. In my case, they meet all my needs. Stored in the basement some where, I have access to files that I don't carry around all the time and back ups to me various devises.

Still figuring out
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Once we figure out how to make all the features sync up and work right, My Cloud will be wonderful.

GOOD FOR WAHT IT DOES BUT SPEEDS ARE BAD
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.THIS PRODUCT IS GOOD FOR WHEN IT DOES, BUT HONESTLY THE SPEEDS ARE REALLY SLOW. AND YOU ALWAYS NEED GOOD SPEED WHERE YOUR AT AND GOOD SPEED WHERE THE LOCATION IS LOCATED! MAKE SURE YOU HAVE GOOD INTERNET SPEEDS AT HOME BEFORE YOU BUY! IF YOU ARE UPLOADING LARGE FILES YOU NEED TO BUY A USB CORD TO UPLOAD. TRYING TO DO IT OVER WIFI WILL TAKE FOR EVER.

Dont need Icloud
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I use this to back up all of my devices and my in home servers. UI is really easy to setup and works awesome to back up my cell phone instead of using over priced cloud service.

Great little drive with tons of features
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Only reason I will give this 4 stars is because the first one I bought was dead on arrival. Took it out of the box and red LED would stay solid indicating that the drive had a malfunction. Aside from that set back I exchanged it for another one and it has been working perfectly since. I use it primarily for my movie server that I use DLNA to stream to my raspberry pi with XBMC. Very fast to load movies and never had it over heat. I would definitely recommend the WD My Cloud for anyone that is looking to not pay and arm and a leg to get a NAS server in their home.

Home only (used as active storage)
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I would use this for a 1st backup in a home with all WiFi attached computers. Then I'd get another external to back it up and store offline. Comes with a pre-configured iTunes server and some other nice features. I have not had long enough to give it a better than average rating. No Larger file xfers or simultaneous systems accessing the device at once..

Backup and private cloud
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I so wanted to be able to use this but had to return it due to (my company's) firewall issues that I could not adjust. The firewall would not permit my laptop to acknowledge the My Cloud device. It would've been great for auto backup and private cloud access. I especially wanted to send photos from my phone to it, and decrease photos storage on my phone.

Easy to set up, worked right away with tablet, PC
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I got my Cloud because I had tried other backups and they had a lot useless information on their web sites. The Cloud linked quickly with my pc, laptop, android phone and tablet. It is user friendly so far. I opted not to get the extra memory because I am not a big photo person, but told my sister who has tons of pixs on her phone and she was definitely going to look into the Cloud

Easy Install Network Backup
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Easy and simple setup, accomlished with a quick internet sign -on that walks you through the process. The initial backup of my MAC was not quick and the MACIOS Time Machine app is not as seamless as I expected. Apart from that works great with my other mobile devices.
