Needing some piece of mind and this was perfect for backing up my travel laptop. I also was able to download some movies from another data base to increase my digital library of movies

these are wonderful for storing data, and for backing up data.. also for taking data between several devises.. the perfect companion for movies...tunes... or my Surface3 tablet..

I like these drives. I buy quite a few, usually one a week for different projects and using my MacBook Pro retina I am able to transfer 500 gigs worth of data in a little under 3 hours.

I HAVE ALSO HAD A SEAGATE HARD DRIVE WHICH QUIT WORKING WITH 100 HOURS OF HARD WORK. I HAD TO CALL AND HAD BAD RESPONCE. They expected me to pay $18 postage to get replacement of their defective item and $500 to retrieve lost items. The hard drive was less than a month old, bought at Best Buy

I bought this hard drive for my Wii U because I ran out of space on the console rather quickly. The hard drive works perfectly, and I have all the space I'll ever need for my Wii U.

it did not backup files as expected, but it could have been my fault

The external drive works as expected. The backup software included is basic. It somehow backed up my computer twice, in two separate backup files, so after only 1 month of using my new computer it said I had no more space on the external hard drive. I'll be looking for a new backup app.

Downloading my photos was very easy, I have a 16 megapixel camera and I downloaded 1500 photos and barely used any of the memory on this passport. Easy to organize the photos also

I love the "My Passport Ultra 1TB External USB 3.0/2.0 Portable Hard Drive" that I purchased @ Best Buy. It works really great for our needs and it's small so it's very easy to store.

Good drive - and includes backup software unlike cheaper WD models like WD Elements. The software is pretty convenient if you're not up to speed on using the Windows version.

needed iMac for retrieval of files from external hard drive via time machine. No internal dvd/cd drive, some conflicts w/ HP Envy 4 in 1 printer, some conflicts w/MS Outlook that took time to resolve, and not compatible w/external LG dvd/cd drive that advertised Mac compatibility.

I always trust Western Digital to provide me with a reliable and speedy hard drive. So far, I have had no issues and this is the second hard drive I have purchased from them.

How can you go wrong with a 1T hard drive that can fit in a pocket? I picked it up before a cyber security workshop for the sole purposr of learning to make a forensic back up.

I tend to favor WD for all of my external hard drives. I needed an external for a PC with limited internal storage, so added a 1TB. Fast, reliable, and I've never had any issues.

I bought this item to back up my mac as I was going to be doing an upgrade and needed to clear space. It worked great as opposed to my husbands which would not recognize my laptop.

I'm a world traveler and like to have all my photos with me at all times. The "Cloud" is good, but without internet access in some places, an External hard drive is mandatory.

Hard drive these days got phase out so fast, storage size, usb speed, read write speed etc.... It is important to have a nice hard drive to store your pictures and memories!

I bought this to backup my laptop and it seems to be working okay.

With the Geek Squad's assistance, all my data was transferred from desk top to this external hard drive and then back again after repairs were done to desk top. All went well.

Easy to use and so far it's been fast and reliable. I really like that it's USB 3. Nice to have the extra speed. They sure have come a long way since the first portables came out.
