I had never backed up my laptop so when it crashed the Geek squad recommended this product so they could store my data and repair my computer.

Fast, quiet, compact. A nice hardware design. Software not doing what I need tho. Backed up old PC to transfer to new PC, but when plugged into new PC the backup volume is not found.

As always WD has delivered a great product. This time encased in a beautiful Noble Blue she'll that makes it stand out from similar devices.

Great external drive. If you own Apple products, you will have to reformat through Disk Utility but, so what. No problems with this drive.

Bought this for my Lenovo laptop. It was easy to use and now I can feel secure that I have backed up all my important documents and photos.

This external hard drive is a excellent value. Backed up my PC just in case the PC crashes later. All the info is now on the external drive.

I bought this portable drive, to keep all my artwork safe, i carry the drive everywhere....the drive is fast, but sometimes, drive access time is a little slow at first, when you first use it. but other than that, its pretty awesome

I use this HD for offshore use and it gets banged about in my offshore bag. Never have I had any issues with this HD and love the product!!

Currently am using this a Backup for my existing 1 TB. So far no issues. Scheduling option with option to select specific path is good.

I was amazed at how small this is compared to my other external hard drive. The salesman was very knowledgeable but sort of short with me.

The Passport Ultra 1 TB External Hard Drive works as expected. Fast downloads for all my files. Good recommendation from the Geek Squad.

I haven't tried the encryption yet. Seems cool. The speed is fast. Works on old windows server after unplugging and replugging back in.

I have 3 external hard drives from this company and they have all worked great. This one has a new plug configuration on the cord and I don't like that! Would be much better if I could interchange the same cord for all 3 units.

I'm running a 10.7.3 Lion Mac OS with a GMYLE USB 3 card. When I got this I thought it would be like other WD Passport drives. The other ones I've had have been great so far: both fast and reliable and worked fine with my USB 3 port. This drive seems to work fine in the USB 2.0 ports. But whenever I plug it USB 3 port it caused problems. It would either eject the drive right away or hang my finder and I would have to reboot. At first I tried going into the Energy Saver in the System Preferences and unchecked "Put the hard disk(s) to sleep when possible." I also uninstalled their software including the preferences. That helped a little and caused it to appear on boot and not freeze the finder. The drive would mount upon boot-up but when I tried copy anything over a few gigabytes it would randomly unmount itself. I tried calling WD customer service and they weren't much help and only said they could exchange for another drive of the same kind. I got rather mad saying it wouldn't work with my computer and they offered to exchange for a different WD drive. I decided to call Best Buy customer service and she said even though it was beyond 15 days (but less that 30 days) I could exchange it for another drive. So I went to my local Best Buy and initially they were hesitant citing the 15 day policy but I explained what HQ said and they relented. I exchanged it for a Seagate Slim for Mac and that drive is great! Admittedly I have unique set-up but I have seen lots of others who have similar WD drives who have random ejecting/unmounting issues as well.

I bought this product for my mother. She loves this product. This was bought when the item was a daily deal. Happy with the purchase.
