      Recently switched this hard drive between a Mac with an older OS to a newer Mac with OS El Capitan. After using it between the computers, I started having issues with the hard drive and it became read-only and no longer showed up on the computer with the older OS. After reading forums, this is an ongoing issue with many WD passports where you cannot move them from an old OS to El Capitan. Files from the drive were eventually moved to a new external and the old one is no longer usable.

      Had an issue installing the drive with a Windows 10 computer, but support at Western Digital helped me make needed changes to settings and it works just fine now.

      The backup software that comes with the drive can be better. I have a Seagate at work and the backup runs constantly instead of running on a schedule that WD provides
