Customers enjoy the My Passport Ultra 1TB external hard drive's ease of use, ample storage, and reliable performance. Many appreciate its compact size and find it to be a good value for the price. The USB connectivity is also frequently praised. While some users found the included software less than intuitive, the positive feedback on other features outweighs this concern.

I bought this device not even a month ago, and now, it's acting up.
It does not show on the file explorer. When I went back to Best Buy to get it replace they said if its over 15 days they won't replace it. Now, I am stuck with a device that won't properly work, and my files are gone. :(

Used one my whole life....it broke so had to get one .... there was only 1 style available so this was it.....I guess they are out of style
The buttons on it are rediculously small, it is hard to press just one
Instructions are not clear and do not work as stated
I would have returned it if I lived closer

I already had a 1TB my Passport Ultra I bout about 1.5 years ago and I was looking for a second backup drive to keep off site at work. I decided to get the same thing because this drive is easy to use, it had hardware encryption and it is USB 3. I had an older USB 2 hard drive and this drive is much faster. The software that it comes is easy to use and is well designed.

Backed up several times. Including just before I took my laptop in to be fixed. When the Geeksquad tried to get info from the drive they couldn't find it. It took them 2 full days to get most of the info. Some was lost. The fact the drive was 3 months old didn't help the situation.

Hate it...you have to upload all these crazy things in your computer that takes up soooo much memory and then after you constantly have to keep updating and there's constant reminders etc. so much hassle for something that should just work as a large portable hard drive.

If you are considering investing in portable storage I'd recommend SDD. Although the 1 TB is appealing it started to slow down at 1/4 of it's capacity. Not only that, HD's are now becoming obsolete.

Not as represented by the salesperson. Much more complicated to use and didn't meet my application at all. Not very Mac friendly. It's a 2 hour drive to the nearest Best Buy so I will probably just racking up as a loss.

Bought this and tried to set it up for a Mac and had numerous issues. After trouble shooting a bit, I just returned it and got a Seagate. The Seagate was no problem whatsoever to set up and has worked great since.

There is so much to love about this hard drive. First, it has a huge capacity. When I think about the drives I've had over the years, it floors me that I can carry 2TB in the palm of my hand. This is slightly larger than a deck of cards and comes with the USB cable.
