Customers enjoy the My Passport Ultra 1TB external hard drive's ease of use, ample storage, and reliable performance. Many appreciate its compact size and find it to be a good value for the price. The USB connectivity is also frequently praised. While some users found the included software less than intuitive, the positive feedback on other features outweighs this concern.

This is my 3rd Passport Ultra 1TB external HD. Its slim shape makes it perfectly fit in my pocket, in my jacket, in my bag for easy carry-on. This HD is fast and plug-and-play which is why I like it the most. Great and reliable product

I am a photographer and needed a new external drive because my other 1 TB was on the verge of reaching its capacity. So I got to shopping around for a new external drive (my prior 1 TB is a Western Digital). In my search, I camps red this device to many others ones on the market. Hands downs this was definitely the right direction to go. I never had any problems out of my old and it want portable unless I carried my laptop bag with me and you have to plug it into a socket to get power (it's almost 7 years old). This device is small enough to fit in your front pocket and is to connect to your computer while on the go especially when I am on shoots and need to transfer something quickly. Overall I am just satisfied with this product and recommend it to anybody who is in need of a good external driver to keep your internal driver clean of excess data files.

I have been in the market for an external hard drive for years and have been holding off but after losing some of my most precious photographs (I accidentally deleted them from my computer and cried like a baby) I finally took the time to review different types selected the WD 1TB which is perfect for all the pictures I have and still have room to spare! I plan on buying another for my mothers photographs and one for all my music. I definitely recommend it!

Absolutely a quality product that could not be easier to install. Also comes with WD software for backup and other disk utility functions. NOTE: do not plan to use a USB hub to connect this drive to your PC; plan a direct connection to a PC USB port. (This was my experience, anyhow. My PC did not completely 'see' the drive when hooked up via a USB hub; it worked as advertised when connected directly through a PC USB port.)

Great external drive, decent backup software

I have been using this drive for a couple months now and it has worked great so far. I use the WD backup program to auto backup files from two drives onto the WD external drive every few days. The USB 3.0 speed makes a huge difference over my previous WD USB 2.0 drive. I would recommend this drive to anyone looking for an external USB 3.0 drive.

Bought this one specifically for my Roku 2 to watch my movie collection on the TV. Performs great, and it is so quiet.
This model (1TB) is noticeably slimmer than the 2 TB model, which allows it to blend in perfectly with my black TV and desk.
I own 3 of these WD portable HDDs. I keep the other two for backup purposes.
