A friend recommended we get this product to back-up our systems, so we don't have to worry about manually doing them. Great product.

Worthless! This works great until you actually have to use it to transfer files. It won't transfer across operating systems. Can't transfer from Windows XP to Windows 10. Changing operating system version corrupts device. Customer Support is out of US! They couldn't provide a work around. What good is this if it won't work when you need your files. THIS IS A WASTE OF MONEY, MY TIME AND CAN'T RETRIEVE FILES. Do not buy.

I like this for the backup to my office computer. Backup software is much less bloated than Toshiba.

Holds all my files at a quick and fast location to carry around and retrieve whenever needed.

This is a good product. However, I would expect it to be little more cheaper.

I was deceived by one WD agent when he gave me a number for advanced support, turns out it was microsoft's number which is a pay service. Another WD agent had me unplug the hard drive which froze my computer. She should have told me steps to "safely eject" hard drive. While I was waiting for a supervisor to think of a solution, I went online via my tablet and found that if you unplug power to entire computer, wait 30 seconds and plug everything in and power on it will reboot. WD says it will provide basic install support. Very basic at least. Don't count on them for much and count on them less if you need them for anything that arises from the install. Also there is no directions in or on package.

Since I had to have an external hard drive, at least this did the job for a (relatively) inexpensive price.

Despite all the good interviews you may see about this product, DO NOT believe it! This external hard drive is all handy dandy when you first start using it, but this hard drive will slow your computer down and it'll have its moments where it doesn't want to be read by the computer. A lot of my friends have the same problem, and we're all photographers. We use this to backup our old work and it is not a good thing to buy. If you want an external hard drive that won't slow your computer down and that'll always be read, get a LaCie hard drive (the thunderbolt edition). That one is highly used and recommended.
