She has a ceiling fan light on a switch but couldn't reach the chain to turn off the light only. I purchased a small lamp and this plug and hooked it up to Alexa. Now my daughter just asks Alexa to turn light on or off. It is pretty neat, I can turn it on in the morning to wake her.

Great Little Controller

Also wanted to later control lights in the evening after work. A little problematic setting up, but got it done OK. If you use multiple Wi-Fi bands (2.5 vs. 5) that is OK. Docs seem to say that will not work, but it works for me!!! Devices on 2.4 and many other devices, including iPad, on the 5 MHz band. Soon to install a switch for the front lights.

Love my WeMo plugs!

It works great and I highly recommend as an easy way to integrate smart plugs into your home as well as for improved safety if you are away from your home. Have infrequently run into syncing issues with Google Home, but not enough to be considered disruptive (maybe 6 times per year, Max, when there are updates needed on Google home).
