Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I am setting up my smart home and I have been looking for a smart plug with dimmer to be able to control my living room lamp light level, after an extense research, I found this, which everywhere is advertised with dimmer, but it isn't. Wemo also has a different device which is a dimmer, but they always talk about both at the same time so you get confused and end up buying the wrong thing. When I got home I installed the wemo app and everything was fine, but when I wanted to pair it with Alexa, it was asking me for a Samsung / smartthings user and password which is not related to what I bought. I didn't want to create more accounts, but finally, I had to download another app (Smartthings) in order to be able to create the account. FInally, after I did all this, the dam smartthings app is asking me for a code, that I have no idea where is. This has been a stressful and frustrating situation. Now I have to go back to Best Buy and get a different one. I would never recommend this device and brand. also, doesn't work with apple home kit.

Set up goes through the app you have to download in order to get it online but the app is very glitchy. Took some time to get it working but now that it’s online, I haven’t had any problems! Currently using it with my echo device to control it.

Nice but difficult pairing with Homekit

I thought it was going to be easy but it was not. It’s took days for me to actually be able to download the firmware to allow the pairing to happen. I wish the process of a little easier.
