    Will not connect after resetting

    Cannot add to app any longer after first factory reset. I had to reset it because the app could no longer connect to the device. After performing the factory reset, the app errors when I try to add it. I've deleting app data, reinstalling the app, resetting the device, using old wifi creds- nothing will get this plug working connected anymore...

    I have found these to be very hard to set up in the beginning but once you figure them out and get them working they seem to be find.

    Let me preface this by saying this is a great product! However, I have literal nightmares over setting one of these plugs up. There are countless errors you can encounter and most are not simple to solve. I would not suggest this product for anyone just jumping into the smart home game. Belkin has known about several issues for years and chooses not to address them. My primary issue with the product is the Wemo app which is not user friendly.

    Constant “cannot find” or doesn’t connect over WiFi for remote use. Also the added cost of a bridge to pair with Apple home is crazy.

    This did not work at my house. Guess it's a wifi problem. I had one just like it only older which stopped working when I changed servers. Thought I could get new one to connect but it didn't happen. The one star doesn't really rate the product just my experience with it. My 15 year old grandson couldn't get it to work either and he's a whiz with this stuff.

      This is definitely not the experience we want for our customers. The Wemo Mini should work with most Wi-Fi networks. It is possible that an outdated firmware or restrictions on your network is the cause of the challenges that you are having.

    To much of a hassle for a smart product

    When I got it set up, I loved it. But for some reason these things (I bought 2) would not connect to any of my smart hubs. I eventually got them to work after hours of tinkering with them and then I’d have to unplug it and have to reset and deal with the same complications. I have plenty of smart home products in my house and they all connect within the matter of seconds. But these, for a smart plug, there not very smart.

    I had some difficulty getting this to work with my Belkin router (odd, considering it's a Belkin product), but their tech support was able to correct the problem.

    I had a hard time connecting this product to my wifi in my apartment. I have read that it works better in houses, not sure!!!

    Does not work if WiFi SSID is hidden...

    It took me more than an hour to setup and figure out why it does not connect to my WiFi network. It turned out that it cannot find my WiFi SSID if it's hidden. Bear in mind that hiding the WiFi SSID is another layer of security. All of my WiFi home-automated devices (such as thermostat) worked even if the SSID is hidden, but this is really terrible. I was about to buy the $50 WiFi light switch but I changed my mind for this vendor.

      Your Wemo Mini Smart Plug should be able to connect to a hidden network. During setup, scroll at the bottom of the WiFi network and choose "Other", then enter the network name (SSID) and password of your hidden Wi-Fi network.     As a former WEMO user, I am sad to see that they are failing to keep up with the evolving industry. The software interface with their app and Alexa is very cumbersome and frustrating. If you are lucky enough to make it work, I hope you never have to set it up again, because of the setup is so problematic, you will not remember what you did previously. I discarded the device and went with user friendly brand to use with Alexia.

    Had a little trouble getting them set up, but their support staff helped out and was effective and patient. Had to reload the app a few times.

    I never could get this plug in to work. Fortunately I also bought a WEMO at the same time and it connected without any problems. Thanks Best Buy for allowing easy returns.

    Inconsistent setup experience. Works most of the time but not always. On par with other, cheaper, smart plugs. I would go for a switch whenever possible.

    Some instability

    The mini switch does not seem as stable (staying connected to WiFi) as the original switch. But it does connect to Apple home kit where the old one did not.

    It can be a hassle to get set up, but it works fine once you do. I’ve had problems with reliability on a couple of these plugs though.

    The Wemo app faces issues constantly. Quite often the devices are not found and you may even need to reconfigure them again

    Not an Easy Install

    Once I got it to work, it was fine. Getting it to work was a chore. As a warning, every time you go thru the setup, you have to enter a valid email address, doing so from your phone is a big pain, because it never saves your email address for the next try. After about 20 minutes of resetting my router, access point, my phone and resetting the smart plug; I got it to connect to my Wi-Fi network. It's working fine now. Setup was NOT easy or fun.

    My WEMO worked well for a while and then stopped. Customer support was not helpful and it's too late to return to the store. I am very disappointed.
