Not worth the money

Tested it a few days before leaving and it worked fine. While away I turned on the light in my living room using my cellphone and it worked. The next day I tried to turn on the lamp and it told me No WeMo Detected. Upon returning two weeks later I had to unplug and reinstall app for it to work. Did not work for the intended purpose.

Infuriating

It took forever to get it to work in the Wemo app, but then it won't work in the Apple Home app. All instructions run me in circles. Now both the Wemo and Apple apps say it can't be found and I can't remove it from the Wemo app to start over.

I never could get it to connect

I have never gotten it to connect to wifi - I have tried resetting it, moving it to a socket in the room with the router. I've never been able to use it as a programmable plug, and I don't have any other use for it.

While updating the firmware of the Wemo F7C063, we must make sure to stop any activity that consumes the bandwidth such as streaming and downloading. It works out of the box with a lot of patience.

Wemo assumes that you have the temperament to complete the process without getting prostrated. It does however require a great amount of patience to complete the whole installation, for example: 1. Knowing how to properly set-up your phone's WiFi so it doesn't jump to a different channel to connect to the internet. Your gateway provider's features may "add-on" some difficulty level. 2. Best to install units "one-at-a-time" to avoid confusion. Each unit does not respond/set-up in the same amount of time or ease. 3. Complete the Wemo installations, avoid simultaneous installations with Alexa/Google assistant/Siri. 4. Avoid updating the "factory firmware". It gave me a lot of "false status indication" in the Wemo APP. The "firmware updates" actually rendered my 4 units "useless", I mean they didn't work properly with the "Wemo APP" and became problematic with "Google assistant" and "Alexa". I ended up going back to the factory version (easier said than done). "If its not broken, why fix it?"

Stop working after 8 month

But that wasn't the reason I bought this. And don't get me started on getting it connected it's a PITA.

Hard to synchronize with app

Better options out there.

And for over an hour I tried to get it to connect. Watched YouTube, checked the web and come to find out everyone was having the same experience. I finally gave up and returned it and went with The ihome switch.
