    The set up app never finds the wifi network to even make the plug work. I have a brand new netgear nighthawk router from best buy. Contacted Wemo support and they had me change 9 different settings in my router to try to get it to work but still nothing.My daughter's $10 toy connects to the wifi but not this terrible smart plug. Read all the horrible reviews online about it not connecting to most wifi networks before purchasing so you dont waste hours of your time like I did. Never buying another belkin product.

    Initial setup was easy and great. Then I tried connecting to Apple HomeKit. Caused everything to freeze up, and I went through nearly an hour of cycling through reboots of my WiFi, the plug itself, uninstalling/reinstalling the WeMo app, and it never worked again... the app itself can’t even recognize the device anymore. Tried multiple locations around the house too, no luck. Far too aggravating to deal with over the course of one night, not to mention long-term. Will be returning it for sure.

    Box does not contain instructions and the web info

    Android app worked just OK. The problem came in when I tried to connect the switch to Google Home. If there would have been some instructions in the box or on the web this could have been alleviated. Was able to do it however the undocumented learning curve was not. Couple of thoughts for WEMO: Not everyone uses iPhones. Make a webpage with detailed instructions and KEEP IT UP TO DATE! Have a Windows App where you can add the switch to Google Home or detailed instructions on how to do it.

    Do Not Buy

    These plugs have got to be the most worthless things I have ever bought! After you spend the first 2 hours trying to get them to connect to the wirless network, you’ll spend the next 2 trying to figure out why every time you go on the app they aren’t found. These things haven’t worked right since the day I bought them. Dont’t believe me? Go buy them for yourself. I can almost assure you they will end up where mine did about a half hour ago... in the trash bin.

      After the initial installation, your Wemo devices may have not established a stable connection with your 2.4 GHz network.     Mini Wi-Fi smart plug works flawlessly after initial connectivity issue. I am somewhat disabled so this is more than a convenience it is a safety feature for entering , leaving or getting out of bed in a unlit room

    Does not connect

    I really wanted to like this device especially since my Google Home now supports it. The first one I got worked like a charm for the first 2 weeks... Then all of a sudden it would not connect at all to my WiFi so I reset it then I restored it to factory settings and still nothing. Believing that I got a defective unit I exchanged it for another one; however, that one did not connect even once out of the box with the same errors as the last one. I am disappointed in this purchase.

    Software needs to be user friendly

    Its good, but the way the software or app handles the scheduled on/off times is confusing because it puts the sched of the other wemo switches all under one window instead of separating them per switch.

    Two Wemo Mini Smart Plugs

    I’ve had these plugs for a few days. Using them with Amazon Echo. The second day I had them they lost contact with the network and were unresponsive. They came back without any adjustments.

    I know how to set these up. It's the device. it won't recognize my Wifi. It recognized a WiFi 200 feet away, but not mine. And yes, I have hooked up Google Home and Phillips Hue and I know what I am doing. The support desk is junk. I think they have product quality control issues. I have factory reset it; I have seen it spin and spin looking for wifi. It did find my WiFi once. It lasted a day. Its a five bar system. O well.

    I have now had this and their dimmers in my home for almost 2-years. This plug and one switch in particular keeps disconnecting from my WiFi. At least 5 times now. It’s a ongoing problem with no solution from Belkin except to constantly shut the power in my home down and reset everything. Will NEVER buy a Wemo product again. Would advise whoever is reading this to do the same.

    Difficult setup - hoping that it performs well now

    Erratic functionality, good and bad

    Erratic functionality, good and bad I really like it when it works, however I put in a new router and had to reset all of them, two that I own, and now they work very erratically. Sometimes it works yet it tells you it’s not working. Lotta times it says WeMo can’t be found. And now one of my units works and one doesn’t. I still think bugs need to be worked out

    Bad setup, bad wifi support

    I got a mini plug a while ago, and while I had an old router, it was OK - difficult to set up, but once set up, it worked. Not any more. My new router from Spectrum uses the same SSID for 2.4gHz and 5gHz, and Wemo can't handle it. Time to throw it in the trash can. A complete waste of money.

    Unable to connect to wifi

    I purchased this product to control a lamp and after several hours of attempts and internet searches I finally got the app to stop crashing and the device to simply tell me that it was unable to connect to my wifi network. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY! This product should be given to you for beta testing not sold to you!

    Glitchy, Hit and Miss

    Worked for a couple months then all of a sudden stopped working. And even in between it would not properly at times. So after a It stopped working after a couple months i deleted it from the app to reset and reconnect it and it’s been a headache for over an hour tryinG to set it back up because it keeps re-directing me to set it up through mY home accessory app.

    Would be 5 stars if it didnt keep disconnecting

    It would be a great product if it would work for more then 2 or 3 days before I have to reset it. I bought 2 of these items and will be taking them both back since I have GS protection on them. It is easier to just plug the lights into the wall outlet then it is to have to reset these every few days.

    Unreliable devices with a terrible app

    I've had two of these since 2018. They were difficult to set up the first time. The app was crazy buggy. In 2019, I upgraded routers and changed SSID and there was no simple way to change that in the app. Instead it took me 3 hours of manually resetting the devices and uninstalling and reinstalling the app and clearing any backed up settings on Android from my account. I also lost all the rules I had painfully made in the garbage app. A few weeks ago the app randomly stopped connecting to the devices. I just tried rebooting, then resetting and adding the devices. Neither worked. I'm just going to go buy different switches. Also the app is more responsive than it used to be, but still very laggy.

      Once the Wemo Mini Smart Plug is properly functioning on the Wemo app, it should work seamlessly with your Amazon Echo. Try powering down the Echo by unplugging the power adapter, as well as performing a power cycle on your modem and router. Once the router and modem have fully powered back on, restore power to the Echo.
