So far it works ok.
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The reason I do not give the product 5 stars is because I've had some connectivity issues. Do not know if it has to do with Comcast or the modem router. Rather buy the product than pay to rent. It will pay for its self in the long run.

Xfinity modem
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This modem works really well. Used for cable and internet, with absolutely no problems. Last contract I had with Comcast was for 15 years and we "rented" their modem. Thus paid for a modem many times over. Must use Comcast again as our HOA has a group contract. Expect this unit to save me significant money over the years!

Relatively easy install
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Comcast's self install failed to run and it took awhile to get the right support person. One support person changed my records to indicate I had a wireless gateway instead of a cable modem. I had to talk to someone else to give them the mac address. If Comcast would give you a number to call to change that information or let you do it online before you switch the equipment it would be a non-event to install.

Good as cable modem, terrible as router
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I just added Voice to my TV+Internet package to get the $130 a month Triple Play Package (2 year agreement) deal from Comcast. I bought this so I wouldn't have to pay the $10 rental fee from Comcast for the Cisco DCP3941T Wireless Gateway. Pros - smaller than the rental Cisco gateway (which is bigger than the Xbox 360 S) Cons - The wireless signal is terrible - There is no "bridge mode" option when you log into the gateway's GUI unlike the rental Cisco gateway - I had to call comcast rep, took 2 hours to finally get it set up the way I wanted. Basically, I had to have them set the gateway to Bridge Mode on their end, then I could connect my Asus router, power cycle router, but my desktop never saw an internet connection. Rep stated they do not know why this happens, but putting the gateway to bridge mode and using your own router causes no internet connection. So reversed everything. 1. Gateway connected to desktop, disable bridge mode 2. Connect gateway to router to desktop, power cycle router, desktop now sees internet connection 3. Now I have wifi networks from gateway and router 4. Then with gateway to router to desktop connected, asked rep to re-enable bridge mode, power cycle router, and I have internet. Now the gateway is just a cable modem, and I only have wifi networks from my router being broadcasted. Since I don't really use my landline, I may just disconnect the telephone cord, replace this gateway with my Motorola SB6141 modem, and stay on the promotional deal.

Worth the money
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I've had a number of modems and routers that I've regretted because I went the cheap route. This one is a little pricey, but you really get what you pay for with this. It was a little iffy at first, but I think that was because we had just set up the internet at our new place. It might have had a few hiccups because of that. Ever since, there have been no troubles. Totally reliable. Highly recommend!

WiFi works OK, but Ethernet connection is ???
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The WiFi is satisfactory although there have been a few occasions when it would not reach the lanai which isn't that far from the modem/router. Unfortunately the Ethernet connection is intermittent. Geek Squad suspects it is defective and suggested I return it for a replacement. Since it took Xfinitty two and a half weeks to finally get all of their services working with this modem I'm reluctant to start over.

Works fine.
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. We bought this to replace our cable company's rental modem/router, which is the exact same thing. It works fine thus far. No complaints. In fact, it doesn't drop out several times a day as the rental did. I took a chance buying the same thing, but good modem/routers with telephony were hard to find at the time. No problems.

Good unit. Works well.
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is the only model available that can be used with Comcast service if one has phone service included. Installation instructions were clear and easy to follow. The built in Wifi seems to work very well so one does not need a separate unit..

Easy Set Up
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I purchased this product to replace the modem I have been renting from Comcast and it was the right decision. It is identical to Comcast's and I would recommend this product to others that are long time modem renters.
