While I may strapped with the type of modem I can get (due to the fact that I also have phone with Comcast), I love not renting it from Comcast anymore and giving them any more money than is absolutely necessary. I wish I would have known that the faster version if this modem was coming out shortly after I bought this one. Speed is the only flaw. Still, it is it feels amazing not paying Comcast the rental fee!

I had been paying Comcast $10.00 a month rental fee on their modem for serval years now and figure that I should own it by now. I didn't realize that I could go to Best Buy and buy my own Comcast modem plus the extend warranty and still save money in the long run.

Can't really tell yet. Comcast just gave me a new one that is working fine. And they are not charging it foe me yet. So I returned one.

Works absolutely fine with my xfinity service and I have 4-5 cell phones, smart TV and a wiiu connected to my WiFi and there's no delay or any problems with the service. Go ahead and save your rental fee .

I knocked off a star because the Comcast guy seemed to have problems getting it up and running, but it's been perfect ever since.

It is very good modem but it is very expensive. It like it.

Bought this modem so I wouldn't have to rent from Comcast. Our last one lasted years. Just needed an upgrade when we added phone service. Will pay for itself in couple years. Works just fine. Have been able to connect to all our devices with no issues.

Solid product, set up with comcast depends on who picks up the phone. Wifi speeds appear to be consistent with Comcast provided unit.

My old router was fixed by Comcast so I returned the new router. I did not get a chance to try it out, but it look shiny and pretty.

Well worth the purchase price rather than paying a monthly rental fee to Comcast forever.

We bought this based on recommendations from the cable company. (In fact, we chose this cable company so that we COULD own our modem -- not rent until our heads go gray.) so far, the wi-if is swift and reliable. The cable guy gave us GREAT advice!

I checked many modems over the past couple of weeks, and this one had telephone hookup that I needed for my landline phone.

I wanted to get out from under the Comcast monthly rental so I went to Best Buy. I spoke with a customer service rep who suggested this item. Took it home and hooked it up. We had some issues with our cable box so a tech came out to replace it and diagnose our wifi issues as well. He said that this unit is not the latest version. He said that it was not as good as the new one. I have not returned it.

I decided to buy the Comcast modem because I was tired of spending $120 a year on the rental. In less than a year and a half I will have recouped the cost of the modem. I definitely advise you buy a new modem because Comcast will not activate a used one.

I have been paying a monthly rental fee to Comcast for this exact Modem/Router so I decided to purchase my own and return the rental. The setup was very quick and easy. The performance equals and sometimes exceeds the performance of the rental.

This is great to replace your Xfiniry Router. Not as mist range as I needed though

Great modem, but phone line got locked up one time. Reset all and everything started working. That is the reason for 4.

I read some reviews that said wifi was not very good on this unit. I purchased it and I have no problems with wifi signal anywhere in my house. But I don't live in a mansion. Ethernet connection gives me top speed and that is what I mostly use.

No more paying rental fees to comcast. This unit is in my utility room in my basement and the signal reaches up two floors to the bedrooms. Yes, a bit pricey but if you're in a comcast only market it will pay for itself after a year and a half.
