Full Mattresses

A full-sized mattress, also called a double mattress, is an excellent choice for those who sleep alone but want more space than a twin mattress provides. Full-size mattress dimensions can also accommodate two people while remaining compact enough to fit well in small bedrooms that might feel too tight with a queen mattress.

By choosing a full mattress, you gain more space in your room for other furniture. This could be important if you are setting up a guest room that doubles as an at-home office. You might be able to fit a comfortable armchair, a desk and office chair or a large wardrobe or armoire.

You will also find that other purchases for a full mattress size, like bedding, a mattress pad and a full-size bedframe, are more budget-friendly than queen or king-sized options. All in all, choosing a full-size bed can help you put together the bedroom that you want.

When it comes to choosing the best mattress, the most important factors to consider are firmness, weight limit and material. Firm mattresses are good for back and stomach sleepers, while side sleepers will usually benefit from a medium or medium/soft mattress.

The materials of a mattress also determine how the mattress responds to your body. In terms of material, memory foam mattresses are great for side-sleepers, who need extra support with a little bit of give. Mattresses with springs offer support and bounce. And if you run hot in your sleep, you can look for a double bed mattress with cooling technology.

Getting the right full bed mattress can help you sleep soundly through the night, as can having a regular bedtime routine and avoiding blue light from screens in the hours leading up to bedtime. To take care of your mattress, invest in a new bedframe or box spring to support it.
