"Steve Jobs" is a must-see!
|Posted .I definitely prefer this film over Ashton Kutcher's mundane "Jobs." Unlike Kutcher's film, everything about "Steve Jobs" was well done...from the way the story was set up to the frequent intense exchanges between then Apple CEO John Sculley (played brilliantly by the legendary Jeff Daniels) and Jobs himself, played by Michael Fassbender, who also did an outstanding job in this role as well. Moreover, while watching this film, I even learned a little more about Jobs' life than what I originally knew before...such as his rocky relationship with Chrisann Brennan for instance. Moreover, it was also nice and almost unexpected, if you will, to see Seth Rogen in this film as well. Despite being known for his sometimes off-beat comedies, Rogen does surprisingly well here with his role as Steve Wozniak. In summary, even if you're an Apple fan or not (I prefer Windows and Android) this film is a must-see! If you like a good drama with a biographical touch, then I can guarantee you that this film will not disappoint!

A One Man Job
|Posted .Danny Boyle's close up of Steve Jobs is a magnificent piece of writing, acting and direction. With a spectacular script by the master of words, Aaron Sorkin, Michael Fassbender is able to go deep into the hubris that drives one of modern times most powerful media manipulators. Jobs, himself, admits that he is not a star musician, but a conductor (semi or otherwise) who leads the orchestra. The film is entirely conversations at product launching events between Jobs and the principals in his career and personal life. The mixture is sometimes toxic but so was the man. Kate Winslet as Joanna, his marketing and personal manager, keeps the film grounded and moving along. Considering the subject of computers and what drives them and over whom, it's quite a feat that never falters.

Vintage Aaron Sorkin dialogue -- smart & snappy
|Posted .Screenwriter Aaron Sorkin's story structure is not a conventional 3-act linear biopic plot. It's a series of three significant vignettes centered around three milestone Apple product launches. But the dialogue sparkles with Sorkin's characteristic intelligence and snappy rhythm, and provides texture and insight into the mind of Steve Jobs. The cast, especially Michael Fassbender, Kate Winslet, and Jeff Daniels, really delivers. And director Danny Boyle's photography and editing make a talky movie non-static. I thought the movie would be too fast-cut and frenetic like Boyle's other movies (Slumdog Millionaire and 127 Hours), but this film has just the right balance. In the end Sorkin and Boyle paint an emotional and convincing portrait of a genius trying to control every part of his legacy by cocooning himself from what should really matter most to him--the people around him who are his personal business and emotional difference makers.

Danny Boyle does it again
|Posted .Danny Boyle once again proves why he is someone great in Hollywood with movies like 127 hours, slumdog millionaire, 28 days later, trainspotting, etc. Steve jobs had me engaged with Michael Fassbenders performance he delivers so well. Not only is this movie a million times better than jobs the movie it is most likely most realistic tale of Steve jobs yet I thought the only weak spot in the movie is the ending which seemed to humanize Steve as a good guy. Overall great film from start to finish at Kate Winslet gives a great performance. Overall it has pacing issues but it is a good movie worth buying.

Personal Side Of Jobs
|Posted .The movie stars Michael Fassbender, Kate Winslet, Seth Rogen, and Jeff Daniels. I would also argue the movie stars Aaron Sorkin who is a brilliant writer, especially in this genre. The movie focuses more on his personal life with his daughter and former colleague. It wasn't the path I thought they would take but there have been multiple movies about Steve Jobs so I understand needing to take a new approach. Nevertheless, I enjoyed this movie and I would recommend this movie. On a side note, I have seen how a few reviews said that the digital copy won't work on iTunes and on the copy I have it doesn't say anywhere on the packaging that it would. Just Ultraviolet HD, so Vudu or CinemaNow for a digital copy.

If you’re a true Apple enthusiast this is for you
|Posted .Owned for 1 month when reviewed.Great movie, Fassbender’s portrayal of Steve Jobs was excellent along with Seth Rogen in a serious role than most of the films he usually stars in. Was one film that you wanted to just continue watching till the end where he’s about to unveil the iMac.
