The Supernatural Season 12 DVD set retains pretty much the same quality of many of the previous DVD sets, though not as good as the first 3 seasons' sets. The season of course picks up from the aftermath of Chuck & Amara's patching of their feud with the resurrection of Mary Winchester & the introduction of the British Men of Letters. Plot-wise, Season 12 is the weakest by far of the entire series, though Lucifer did return to his old vessel thanks to the return of Mark Pellegrino who is brilliant as usual. The season introduces Lucifer's son Jack who is finally born in the season finale and goes on to become a main element of Season 13. We also see Crowley return along with his mother Rowena, and of course everyone's favorite angel Castiel. One of the most interesting things of this season was the explanation of the yellow eyed demons, of which Azazel from the first 2 seasons was a part. We also finally see flashback scenes of what Crowley did to become the king after the events of season 5 and we also see the lance of Michael, which may return in season 13 or 14 considering the possibilities. It should also be noted that Rick Springfield of 80's music fame makes a few appearances as one of Lucifer's vessels. Even though season 12 was personally a letdown, I would suggest buying this for any diehard fan of Supernatural who wants a complete collection of the series on DVD. There are certainly some really good episodes in the set.

Season 12 picks up right where it left off, with Sam kidnapped by British Men of Letters member Toni Bevell and Dean in shock at the sight of his mother, Mary, who's been long dead. Cass is forced to partner up with Crowley to search for the vessel-jumping Lucifer, played by guest star Rick Springfield. As Lucifer begins to possess more powerful and influential people to get what he wants, sam ad dean are forced to face the death of one of their own. While trying to stop Lucifer, the Winchester brothers are wrongly accused and arrested for his crime - leading Mary and Castiel to turn to an unlikely source to find them. One of the best shows on tv I would highly recommend!

I thoroughly enjoyed the plotlines of season 12 and 13 just isn't as good in my opinion. The acting is still spot on and Jensen Ackles and Jared Padalecki have lost nothing in 13 years, but I didn't particularly care for the British Men of Letters storyline this year and I also don't understand why you'd bring Mary back only to have her basically never with the boys. The early Lucifer plotline was ridiculous mostly due to the fact that Mark Pelagrino did not play Lucifer. Once that was rectified that storyline played out much better as he is amazing. The end of the season certainly leaves interesting openings for next season...

Twelve seasons in and still going strong! There is a bit less male bonding and a bit more action this season, which I appreciated. Was getting kind of tired of Sam's constant emotional outbursts in the previous few seasons. Several episodes were off-canon, but that's to be expected in a series with so many episodes. Looks great on blu-ray, as always, and comes in the same style packaging as previous seasons, so it looks good on the shelf. Enjoy some Supernatural today!

I’m a big fan of the long running Supernatural series. I found season 12 at the local BestBuy for $16.99 a few days before Christmas. I own all seasons now. This is one of the best shows on TV. Some seasons are better than others but still a great show. I took a picture while I was in the checkout and sent it to another avid Supernatural fan.

The series follows the Winchester brothers on more of their monster, demon, angel, and miscellaneous escapades. Graphics are great and the fact it has a digital copy is another reason I added this to my library so in case I'm away from home on vacation, and i feel the urge I can watch an episode or 2 or 3. If you can get it on sale as I did, I'd highly recommend it even though full price you still can't go wrong with the series.

Supernatural is a show that has been on the air so long that its quality ebbs and flows in a couple year cycles. Following the grand cosmic stakes of Season 11, season 12 has a bit more personal stakes for the first 1/3rd before introducing the supernatural mission of the rest of the season. The British Men of Letters are a nice introduction as a contrast to the American loose confederation of hunters.
