An SS captain (Jai Courtney) is assigned as the new head of security for Germany's former ruler, Kaiser Wilhelm II (Christopher Plummer), who was exiled to the Netherlands after the defeat of World War I. However, the position is really a cover for his pursuit of a spy who is sabotaging the Nazi war effort. Lily James, Janet McTeer, and Eddie Marsan co-star. Directed by David Leveaux, The Exception was adapted from the novel The Kaiser's Last Kiss by Alan Judd.~Jack Rodgers
Light weight political intrigue and a look at little known or mostly forgotten events during the beginnings of the Third Reich and the move of Hitler and the National Socialist German Workers Party to rid themselves of the German Monarchists. Light on historical accuracy.
This movie depicts a side of the war you seldom hear about-the guarding of Kaiser Wilhelm. I was pleasantly surprised at how good this movie is. While not an excellent movie, it is quite good. Christopher Plummer gives a strong performance as the Kaiser.
This is a good movie filled with action, drama, thrills and love. This movie has a good story line which will keep one intrigued from beginning to end. Surely worth adding to your military collection of movies.

Great love story about duty and WW2!
Jai Courtney really stands out in this film. I liked the bluray presentation and the PQ was great. It has also a really solid documentary as a bonus.
