This matches up nicely with the Lord of the Rings extended edition box set. Its a nice way to have all of the movies and extras together in one place.

I was so excited to find all 3 Extended Edition Hobbit movies as a set.

I felt that these extended versions filled out the story a lot more than I expected. As with most re-cuts, there was still some fluff like LotR had, but it seemed that there were more key scenes and story driving enhancements by comparison to the LotR extended cuts. I like those also, but I felt these (hobbit extended) had more value to watch over the original hobbit cuts.

I read the books in 1973, watched the cartoon versions, and paid attention to about any LOTR/Hobbit material I could find for the following decades. The movies may have taken a few liberties (some good/some not so good), but overall Peter Jackson brought the books to life, and I'm glad I lived long enough to see these films and share them with my son. I would recommend the Hobbit and the LOTR sets to anyone who enjoys the fantastical, wonderful costumes, great acting, and having their imagination brought to life... I'd have given this 6 stars if I could have!!! -Vaughn

Excited for the Hobbit extended movie pack! I purchased the "Lord of the Rings" extended movie pack and it was the best behind the movie bonus material I had ever seen, until this one. If you are a serious fan of "The Lord Of The Rings & Hobbit" this is a must have, but be warned that you may not get much sleep for a while as it is hard to stop watching the hours & hours of extended footage!
