excellent solution to my problem
I purchased this so I could get rid if the Ethernet cable running between my garage/office and my house, as the winter is brutal on it. I was skeptical that I would have positive results with maintaining good speed. I am pleasantly surprised. Not only was the setup for this device beyond easy, I lost no speed from the connection over the Power Line Unit vs the Ethernet cable. I am paying for 50Mbit service and I still get that with this device, just as if there were still a cable going between the house and garage. The WiFi is at 30Mbit which is better than I was getting with a repeater. Overall, this is well worth the money and easy to setup. Remember to change the WiFi password settings for security.

I've got the power!
Okay, I’ve always been anti powerline communications. I think mainly because you have to plug it directly into the wall, no power strips allowed, which is hard to come by in my place. Enter the AV500, where my first thought is “cool, it has 2 ethernet ports on it”, and “No way will it work well”. Long story short color me impressed. Long story long this little box is pretty powerful. I had absolutely no Wi-Fi or ethernet in my basement. I prefer ethernet over Wi-fi but down in the dungeon I got nothing. The AV500 fixed that problem for me. The streaming speeds over powerline were… dare I say impressive. Setup was pretty darn easy too. Just plug one in then plug in the other then hit the pair button. You have to press the pair button on the second adapter within 2 minutes. Admittedly, I got distracted the first time I tried to set this up and missed that window. But that was the only hiccup I had. If I had to complain at all about the device is that it required a utility to find the correct IP address, to complete the setup. Still a very slick device that I hope to enjoy for a long while. Submitted as part of a free sample program.

Perfect wifi solution for old houses
This product is really easy to install and configure. Before installing it I had really slow speeds at the far end of the house, about 1 MBPS. After installing this product I now get between 15 and 25 MBPS of download speeds at the far end of the house. Avoid using an extension cord or power strip with this unit as the instructions say. I tried that at first and experienced only about 5 MBPS. This was well worth it to solve the problem of dropped or slow connections.

Works
This worked to extend internet to my basement, but the wifi turned out to be insufficient for smooth internet operation. But when I used the ethernet connection it worked great.

Great Networking Device
Don't spend your money on any other extender. This worked so great for my house. Now my whole how is covered by my Wi-fi and my PS4 is hardwired via LAN and getting the best internet streaming I can give it. Love this product.
