In this irreverent take on the buddy-cop genre from writer/director John Michael McDonagh, two nihilistic New Mexico police officers (Alexander Skarsgård and Michael Peña) get wind of a major heist while on suspension for abusing their authority one too many times. They decide to hobnob with the local criminal underworld while making plans to steal the loot for themselves, but soon realize they're in over their heads. Paul Reiser co-stars as the long-suffering police chief saddled with the unenviable task of keeping the bad cops in line.~Violet LeVoit

The trailer made this seem funny in a Deadpool way. It isn't. Surprisingly subtle and intellectual this movie definitely has a slow start and takes a long time to draw you in on first viewing, but it is well worth hanging in there for the payoff, which gives greater depth to earlier scenes. For people who missed the plot-you weren't paying attention. There are laughs and there are heartbreaking lows, but the seemingly cavalier attitude of its anti-heroes thoughout keeps this from being so much melodrama, while it explores the darker side of our own culture. The on screen chemistry of Pena and Skarsgard and their selling performances convince you of the deep connection between these two characters.
Just an ok action flick about a couple of crooked cops (have we beat this horse to death yet?) that, by the end, see themselves turn from self-indulgent to "white" Knights.
It's violent, sometimes funny and, overall, well acted.
I'd give the movie a, just barely, thumbs up to watch if you've nothing better to do that night.
This was an okey movie, too much booze, I feel sorry for the actor Skarsgard having to drink so much for his part, not to preach. It was kind of a dark crime show and was different but it was good entertainment .
I wasn't sure what to expect when i got this movie, i just liked the sound of the story. In the end it was a much better story than expected and its believable, so in the end it was better than expected. The acting isn't perfect but then that is a problem with all movies none of the acting is perfect but you will believe and like these characters in the end...
