I used many others at work. This is the best i used for my own. Fast, spacious (1 TB HD), etc., and the touch screen, fine! Excellent....

I was searching for a new computer and this one was recommended to me by my IT director. It is easy to use and meets my needs. My senior high school student is also using it to research colleges and store his documents. It is lightweight and a perfect screen size.

Thoughtless Keyboard design. Slow startup and slow performance. Keys are hard to press. Not a standard Keyboard design so it's hard to do the daily office work if you are used to short-cuts on your fingers. Some of the important buttons are so tiny that you won't even feel it you press it or not. On/Off button is near to the ESC key, so in most cases when you try to press ESC key, you may end up with switching off the PC or putting it to Sleep. The most used "DELETE" key is very slow and far from its standard place. Similar, with PAGE UP & PAGE DOWN keys. Function keys do not work solely and can be used only with the combination on FN key and other function keys. Buttons are far from each other, so forget about typing in you regular speed. The typing speed would reduce to 60-70% percent of your normal speed on regular computers/laptops. Performance is still okay but cannot do daily work with such key board design. If it had the standard key board design then it would have been one of the best laptops given the price and features. I feel it's a waste of money for me. However, if you are not used to keyboard & typing, then it is a good laptop especially for students or new laptop users.

I’ve been disappointed with the speed of my laptop. Even though I bought the “faster” one according to the salesperson and have closed out some of the junk that came with it that was running in the background, it’s still too slow and the touch pad freezes up on me which is frustrating.

Although it may falter at times (with a cpu considerably weaker than market standards) it gets the job done.

I will be the first to stick my head out on this one. I bought two of these, one for each of my younger boys aged 9 and 11, for school work. That being said for that purpose this model is surprisingly quick with its new 8th gen Core i5 that now has true 4 cores and hyper threading making 8 logical processors. Compared to 7th gen that is an amazing increase in processing power. Don’t expect an amazing device from this model due to its slow 5400 rpm Hard Drive by any means, but to be honest I am a technical engineer who has been in IT for 25 years now, and I was surprised to see it perform very decently overall, and for a giggles kind of test that Minecraft and rocket league were actually playable on the integrated 620HD graphics. I consider that a bonus for the nights they study hard and earn a breather. Don’t expect a great gaming laptop from these, but for younger children they work surprisingly well. Build quality - this is where HP was able to cut most of the cost down, these are down right cheap cheap cheap in construction. I’m talking PLA home 3D printer feel, not corporate design. But the design layout is actually comfortable considering this. Screen - The touch screen is over saturated and horrible in response times, but is still led backlight and ten point touch screen works very well. The major downside though is the 1366X768 resolution. In today’s world that is very Standard Definition and almost too low for many. The HDMI port is however 2.0 so you could technically push up to 4K on an external monitor. Input devices- The track pad is also multi touch and the keyboard includes a numpad, but is not backlit. End Verdict - Over all I would say for the starving college student, the younger child’s first laptop, or your parents/grandparents this is actually a great device for the price. It would be down right amazing if at this price it had an SSD hard drive though. I hope this long winded write up helps others out.

This laptop is great for the price. Touchscreen, 1 TB memory, i8 processor, what else do you need.

My older Sony Vizio was getting really slow and bogged down. Was taking forever to do anything. I researched all the desktops and laptops Best Buy had to offer and this one was a great price and had the best reviews. A daily deal of less than $430 sealed the deal and it got a forever home. This is by far the fastest computer I have owned. Seems to have all the new tech capabilities. The computer actually communicates to me what it can do. My 18 year old son "The Gamer" said to get an i5 and he was right. It is not all silver and shiny just flat black and plastic but the processor blazes.

Met my expectations. The i5, 8gb, 1tb, is a great base for a multi functional machine. I use it primarily for work related programs and I'm confident in its performance. Quick, lightweight, and good storage. Could use a slightly stronger external housing though!

Purchased this for my son who needed a new laptop for school. Has enough speed and RAM to use interactive software. The touchscreen makes the laptop so versatile for maneuvering programs and internet. Not top of the line but well above average and at a great sale price!

I had another older HP laptop that I use in the automotive industry for diagnosis and tuning. It was ok but lacked the speed I needed for a certain program. This laptop with the I5 processor was recommended to me and I decided to give it a go. I couldn't be happier with it's performance and the touch screen is just an added bonus. I would recommend it to anyone, as in my opinion the highest performance laptop in it's Price range.

Purchased this to replace a 5 year old ASUS computer which developed problems in taking a charge. I don't do gaming, and use it for social media, news, some personal business. It does everything I want it to. I don't use the touch screen a lot, but it is convenient at times. Primary reason for selecting this computer was the speed, brightness, and price. Very happy with it, and it appears to be a good replacement for my ASUS.

This replaced a 2010 desktop. Faster, same storage at a reasonable price.

I bought this laptop to use for school and didn't want to break the bank. This laptop beyond exceeded my expectations. It is quick to process different actions, has more than adequate storage space, good volume from the speakers, and the touchscreen is a nice bonus/convenience. For anyone that is looking for a great computer to use for school, I would absolutely recommend this one to everyone.

I have had a work laptop for years and was scared to buy my own when I retired. HP has never failed me! I absolutely love the touch screen, but it took a bit to get used to. The 15 inch is a great size: easy to carry, yet large enough to get an accurate visual of the finished product.

This is not the high end computer that you can spend hours playing AAA games on, but it gets the job done and for a pretty nice price. I bought it for my girlfriends niece for college. A current gen processor and a 1080p touch screen are really nice touches. The build quality is okay, without too much screen flex. Upgrading to a SSD was rather easy, once you found the screws hidden under the rubber feet and were able to pry the top and bottom case apart. Not too heavy, but you could spend hundreds more for a lighter laptop of nearly the same specs. I like to fix my own component issues and make upgrades when necessary, so it's nice to have something that doesn't have all of the components soldered to the motherboard. A solid choice for a first laptop or a cheap one if you don't need much computing power.

So far, this computer has performed as it should and as it was advertised to do. I have loaded three Rosetta Stone language programs on it. Each one runs perfectly. There appears to be no lose of speed or performance quality with their addition to the hard drive. Battery life also is very satisfactory and much greater than my old laptop!
