Truly terrifying movie. For horror movie fans this is a must watch.

An experimental laboratory in which animals have been infected with the virus of a disease for which a cure was being sought is invaded by an animal rights group and the animals let loose on the population. The plague almost instantly affects humans who spread it rapidly among themselves until the Island which is the United Kingdom is depopulated of all but a few unaffected individuals and many infected ones. It would appear that the larger world has also been affected but that is not directly of consequence for the plot. As we have seen in frequent theatrical and television productions recently, a few survivors come together and seek to find some other group(s) like themselves with whom, somehow, they can ride out the storm, so to speak, until they can recreate some form of group life again. Nothing in this is new on the media scene today. What struck me sufficiently to single this movie out is simply the high quality with which every aspect of the process was performed. It's a case of doing roughly the same job only doing it better. If your taste runs to this subgenre, you will not want to miss this film. If you want to see what model is being used by such films, this is a good one to try, since there is less visible violence and bloodletting than is to be found in the average of the type. I am not an aficionado, but found this rather simple version quite interesting to watch.

28 Days Later is a creepy contagion flick that spooked me to the core. Cilian Murphy is the protagonist as you follow him waking up from a hospital bed to his unknowing that the world has changed around him. Eerily fraught with excellent zombie effects and wonderful characters. I want more. I highly recommend this film.

Good sequel but not as great as the original. Picture quality is as good as it will get for the date of the movie released vs blu ray technology. Good story and shame will never get to see the final movie in this trilogy, 28 months later.

One of the earlier films featuring fast zombies, although technically they're not dead, just infected. Cillian Murphy stars in this gloomy but effective horror movie. Some intense scenes...

The "Beyond High Definition" on the cover of this movie is a bit of false advertising. "BENEATH High Definition" is more accurate. If you, like me, loved this movie and had it on DVD and wanted to upgrade to Blu-ray, don't bother. Spend your money on another HD movie upgrade. As an aesthetic choice, the movie was originally deliberately shot on early, non-hi-def digital video. As such, except for a final scene shot on film, you're not really getting a significant picture /resolution improvement over the DVD on the Blu-ray. However, if you don't own it on DVD, the Blu-ray may be inexpensive enough to be worth your while.

If you want to know how The Walking Dead came about, look no further. This very tense and excellent film from Danny Boyle not only jumpstarted the craze for zombies, but it also gave some ideas to TWD (like the opening, for example). Don't miss it. And don't miss it's follow up 28 Weeks Later.

I just couldn't believe I found it for so cheap, I feel that I got the better half of the deal. I recommend this movie for any zombie lover, it is the starting of the new zombie fad.

Okay the overall rating is 3 for this reason, I purchased this as a Blu-ray for the better quality over DVD ( the copy I received ) was not that, the movie itself has always been great but this copy for some reason looks worse than a buffering YouTube video on 144p? Not sure what is going on with it!? Some parts of the movie were comically bad

I love 28 days later, and 28 weeks later as well. Both have good stories, and really great scenes of a desolate London, and other areas of the country. Great actors as well!

This is a great zombie movie. You should definitely check it out if you like the genre. This was actually the first DVD I bought back in the day. Had to get the high-def version. :-)

I bought this at a great price at Best Buy. 28 Days Later gives a great horror show of what can happen if a viral plague happens and goes out of control.

Great Movie and the idea itself is different and as far as I know there's another movie called 28 weeks later, I would love to watch it also.

A well directed film with a solid plot and with a good choice of casted young actors. A solid performance for a female lead completed by Naomie Harris (recent Bond girl in Skyfall). If you like a well directed film with suspense,quality cinematography and challenging acting you will enjoy this film.

THIS MOVIE WAS GOOD FROM THE VERY START. I LOVE A GOOD MOVIE. ONE WAY TO KNOW A MOVIE IS GOOD..IF THE OPENING IS ACTION. NOW I NEED TO SEE 28 WEEKS LATER.

Great take on Zombies and Virus's adding a realistic apocalyptic spin on the mythos before it was the cool thing to do!

This movie is gritty, fast, and intense. So it only makes sense that the zombies in it are the same way. Recommended.

Picture quality of this film is incredible! Sound is amazing as well, the movie is one you have to see!
