4-Year Standard Geek Squad Protection

Our microwave went out in our office. When I saw that the Samsung would bake as well as microwave, I purchased. Not only does it bake, but it grills, it will combo micro/bake and combo micro/grill. It is simply amazing. We now cook real meals for us to eat instead of having to go out to grab lunch and dinner every day at work. The "microwave" is simply amazing. Everything cooks evenly. Adding the 30% power micro to the baking/grilling cycle speeds things up considerably. Truly microwaved food with the "grill" to brown makes meat appear and taste as it should. Something not able to be done on a regular microwave. We also use it as a toaster clearing up cabinet space by getting rid of the toaster we had. We love this appliance so much that we have purchased one for our RV and use it for camping. The oven in our RV is fairly useless; thus this oven enables us to actually bake. While a bit pricey, when one considers what all it does, I found it well worth the money.

I have not had to use my Geek Squad protection yet. But it was an important part of why I purchased a microwave at Best Buy instead of their competition. Best Buy's Geek Squad guaranteed coverage for the appliance and if it died, I could take it back and walk out with a replacement. Compared to their local competition, I would have had to leave a non-functioning appliance with the competitor, wait for it to be shipped to a repair center, repaired, and returned to me. So that could be weeks without the appliance. Best Buy will have an appliance back in my kitchen the same day. That was the bottom line for me. Price was the same at either place with Best Buy's price matching but the Geek Squad coverage was much better.

I've had this service for several years. It's one of the best things I've ever done. No long waits. You can get service over the telephone or in a Best Buy store. I call up every three or four months and get a "tune up" over the phone. The agents are knowledgeable. They'll install the latest updates and drivers, do a virus scan, discard temp files, and generally clean up the computer. You can go to a Best Buy store if you prefer and get the same service. I've waited on the phone literally for hours for other computer service suppliers. Not with this service. Prompt service at almost any hour. Often late at night. This is some of the best money I've ever spent.

I have 2 laptops on this plan. If you've ever paid to have your computer worked on you know how ungodly expensive it is. The Geeks do wonderful work, you can call from home and they can remote access your computer or if that doesn't work, take it in. A big plus on the call in is it's 24/7 so if you run into a problem at 3 in the morning you have instant help. So far all of my contacts have been English speakers not some call center in India so I can understand them. And finally, it's great to not worry about how much they're going to charge you! Just be aware that they only do software so if you have a bad drive, that's not covered.

I purchased a protection plan from Best Buy for a microwave. After about six months from the purchase date, the microwave stopped working. I called Best Buy's customer service number and was instructed to take the microwave into the store. I am very impressed with how it easy to exchange the microwave for a new one. The person at the return counter very friendly and the transaction was effortless. Best Buy's protection plans are a good value! I recommend purchasing them to protect your purchases.
