Vinyl LP pressing. On A Tenuous Tale of Her, Poté (aka Sylvern Mathurin) marks the debut album for Bonobo's Outlier imprint. A record that's tough, tender and grand all at once, the connections he's built along the way speaks to the variety of his influences with connections from Lisbon's kuduro-fused Enchufada tag, to Benji B and Damon Albarn (who features on single 'Young Lies'), he's built a sound that's packed with ideas and musical touchstones alike. He's received boosts across a wide spectrum of supporters, including Annie Mac, MistaJam, Phil Taggart, Nina Las Vegas, TEED, Pierre Kwenders, Jamz Supernova, Laurent Garnier, and Toddla T. He's been featured in Bonobo's 2019 'fabric presents' mix, featured on 2019 Africa Express album InchEGOLIInch, produced remixes for Little Dragon and Gorillaz, and recently performed on Colors Berlin. Poté's music has always balanced contrasting impulses. On the one hand, there's the rhythmic, celebratory music of his Caribbean upbringing, and on the other, there's his interest in exploratory, emotive songwriting. On this record, he takes that approach in a bolder direction immersive and atmospheric, it's a for those two sides of his music to strike a fresh dialogue.

2014 is the 20th anniversary of TICAL, the debut solo album of Wu-Tang Clan member Method Man, released November 15, 1994, on Def Jam Records. It was the first Wu-Tang solo album released after the group's debut, Enter the Wu-Tang (36 Chambers). Similar to all first generation solo Wu-Tang projects, TICAL was mainly produced by group member RZA. The album features guest appearances from several Wu-Tang members including RZA, Raekwon, & Inspector Deck. The album was a commercial success, reaching number four on the Billboard 200, and number one on the Top R&B/Hip Hop Albums chart. On July13, 1995, it was certified platinum. This success was driven by it's two singles, 'Bring the Pain' and 'I'll Be There for You/You're All I Need to Get By'. TICAL has since been hailed by several music critics as a hip hop classic and it's success is matched by it's influence as a major piece in the East coast hip hop renaissance. Album Tracks 1. Around the Fur the follow-up to Deftones' passionate, aggressive Adrenaline, sees the California quartet expanding on the sheer rage of their earlier work, adding new, more sinister shades to their already extreme sound. The opening InchMy Own Summer (Shove It),Inch serves as an introduction to the album's sonic theme sinewy guitars and eerie whispers alternate with fast, violent crunch. Sepultura's Max Cavallero contributes guitar and vocals to InchHeadup,Inch while InchMXInch finds singer Chino trading off vocal lines with Annalynn Cunningham, (wife of Deftones' drummer Abe) in an acerbic take on the rock star mentality. Vocal acrobat Moreno attacks a variety of styles his breathy, psychotic recitations sound downright industrial, while the album's calmer, more brooding moments show his gift for haunting melody. Behind him, guitarist Stephen Carpenter's heavy wall of sound is astoundingly muscular, yet inspiringly agile. When Deftones' hellish fury hits full tilt, as it always does on this album, Moreno's voice erupts into screams which are best described as otherworldly, transforming this intense musical firestorm into a hurtling juggernaut of aggression. This LP version comes pressed on 180 gram vinyl. Album Tracks 1. My Own Summer (Shove It) 2. Lhabia 3. Mascara 4. Around the Fur 5. Rickets 6. Be Quiet and Drive (Far Away) 7. Lotion 8.
