A friendly troll with a magic green thumb grows one flower too many for the queen, whose laws require all trolls to act meanly, be ugly and scare humans whenever possible. As a punishment, he is exiled to a world of concrete, where he should live a life of proper trolldom: Manhattan. But of all places, his pod lands in Central Park, where he feels right at home. He befriends a young brother and sister, out for the day unknown to their parents, and must immediately protect them from the queen's attack. This is an adventure that teaches the importance of love and responsibility.

I personally do not like the double sided discs. Those discs scratch and all together damage easily. As a preteen i had originally thought that the double-sided discs would be a good idea before the double-sided discs had came out-publicly available. I had been interested in having lots of special features (such as deleted scenes, bloopers, Alternate Endings, gag reels, trailers, Recommended movies based off of similarities to the Film &/or Those involved in It's release &/or making, Recommended on The Actors' & Actresses' recommended films, Recomended movies from the dvd's collaboraters, cast bios, director bios, writer bios, producer bios &/or supportive cast bios on previous works, audio &/or video commentary about the film, cast and crew...with any other added features) on one side of The disc and the film, subtitles options, audio options, Scene selection, widescreen and full screen options on the other side, because knowing the limitations of Rewritable Discs and possible variables used to Encrypt and Function all of the dvd features would take up quite a bit of space-especilly with highly definitive computer graphics and special effects. That way one could be upgraded to a more optimized home theater movie-going experience...while saving on space took up and be cost efficent by taking advantage of both sides of the discs. Though when The double sided discs had came out...that is Not what had happened. To say the least...i did Not configure how easily damaged that They would get. I liked how my double-sided discs idea had changed to two discs instead though...much more appealing for the films with lots of special features. Then blu-ray would come out with that and more on one disc that was far more sturdier. Though i especially like the DvD+Blu-ray editions especially...i just prefer that both discs had shared the same special features and not had them broken down between them like some divorced couple sharing priviledges...especially when the dvd is just the movie-sometimes with no audio or subtitle options...or scene selection. That aside...i had liked this movie in my younger years...and for my adolescence...and i remember liking it's imaginative story telling. I had promised myself that for now-then-i was limited to free digital limited channel and occasional cable tv...with the once in a while movie (TV, VHS or Theater), but in my adulthood...i would make-up to my youth...All of That Viewing Experience that i soo liked and had missed out on...by someday rewatching or viewing for the first time...and should be at all possible-buying Viewings that I had vested much interest in at some point and time. Over time i would get people making Viewing option Suggestions to myself and i had gradually developed a watch list through the years, before netflix was a thing. As time went on...i would ask people Whom i had Acknowledged for Their opinions on Viewing Suggestions. So yeah i find many genres amusing...and as a result of that and soo much more in Life...I like Variety.

I loved this movie as a kid and still love it as an adult. I could not find it anywhere else so I'm happy I found it here. I still think of it as a classic. Although kids today may not enjoy it as much, I think it has a great message. I was even able to share it with my 12 and 8 year old cousin who seemed to enjoy it also.
