A: No, this does not have a backlit keyboard.
Q: can you use this for face time and chat rooms
A: Chromebooks are designed to be used primarily on the internet so it would work fine for video chatting, etc. Facetime is an IOS app that is not compatible with Chrome operating system but you can use Google Hangouts.
