Fantastic Quality and Performance
I was on the hunt for a decent gaming laptop, didn't want super cheap but didn't need the power of my desktop. Nice 17in screen and sturdy aluminum , also love that it has a 2.5 hard drive bay as I had a 1tb ssd laying around. Travels with me frequently, easy to put in a laptop bag or backpack. Runs MW and modern titles on ultra no issue, Its a 2060 so its perfectly fine for AAA games in 1080p for many years to come. I use it with a cooling pad, not needed but doesn't hurt!

Arguably the best in its class!!
I’ve had a chance to use this for gaming and everyday use for about 30 hours and my first impressions are pretty good about this laptop. I did my research, and stacked the Helios 300 against some of the other mid-range gaming laptops and I found that this thing was the best value overall. And it lives up to that expectation for the most part. Note: if you’re considering this particular model, keep in mind it is NOT the latest model of the predator Helios 300. The newer 2020 variant has platinum accents on the rear vents, better thermals due to the xtra vents on the top of the keyboard and the power Jack located in the back of the body. These changes do make the newer variant the better buy. Pros: 1) 144 Hz screen is blazing fast and responsive. Motion while gaming and streaming is amazing. 2) Overall build is superb for this price range and the intel 10th gen chip and rtx 2060 combo in the $1200 price range is a PHENOMENAL deal! 3) Super easy to set up and configure. Also, very upgradeable if you want to expand the ram etc 4) comes with the 512gb SSD and also an additional 1 TB of hard drive 5) so far, the thermals and fan noise are very typical of what is to be expected in a mid range gaming laptop, and I will say this does not get as hot as a dell g7 or the asus models that are similarly priced Cons: 1) Keyboard. This is gonna be user preference but I’ve experienced that at certain times, usually when typing fast or playing RTS, high APM games, that the keyboard will miss some keystrokes. Other reviews also stat this as a minor issue. Also the RGB lighting could be brighter. The keys need to be pressed and depressed completely and at the center to register properly. I’ve noticed if I press a key on its edge, it sometimes will not register. 2) The screen’s very fast and has a great response rate, but it’s not the brightest or most color accurate if its class. I found the overall look of the IPS panel satisfactory but dull. To sum it up, you can’t go wrong with this configuration if you’re looking to get a reasonably priced gaming beast of a laptop. Styling is subjective, but I am a fan. It’s gonna handle just about any game or task you can throw at it but I would suggest to upgrade the ram to 32gb.

Great laptop but with caveats...
Have had for a few weeks now, runs as advertised. Runs WoW and WoT on ultra at 120-145 FPS no issues. As with other reviewers, it does run pretty warm when overclocking so a chill pad is a must. Fans can be excessively loud even when not doing a whole ton but as I use a headset it’s a nonissue. Speakers are on the bottom side so...use a headset. Keyboard RGB works pretty good, though colors could stand to be a bit brighter. Multiple ways of customizing system. Otherwise overall it’s a great system, no issues of black screens or powering off randomly. As noted in other reviews.... FINGER PRINT MAGNET. if this drives you up the wall...this might not be the laptop for you. Corners of the laptop could stand to be a touch less sharp but other than that built decent and sturdy.

Solid fast and fits the bill
Ordered this on a 24 hour deal - needed a good laptop to allow me to do the stuff I do at home while I'm on the road - including video production. Really like the speed provided by the configuration... RTX GPU, 16 GB RAM, 10th Gen I7 - and also the 1 TB HDD that is NOT mentioned in the description. Believe I can also add a 2nd NVMe SSD as well. So very flexible. Feels very well built. But it is a 17.3" laptop... so it is very big. No regrets at all.

Nice piece of hardware. I'm happy.
This is my initial review after receiving the laptop. Ill post a follow up to this as I use it. First, physical aspect. Its a beautiful machine astheticly. The only thing I don't like is the mouse pad. The integrated click is annoying at first but I'm sure I'll get used to it. Fortunately I use a trackball mouse 99% of the time so this is not a problem for me. Some images show the side stripes on back of the monitor lighting up but I have yet to figure out how. The logo is a set color, unable to be changed from what I can tell. Second, windows...what can I say. I don't want Microsoft to know all about me so if you are starting this up for the first time and do not want Master Chief's admin knowing all, avoid connecting to the internet initially. This will allow you to set up a local account instead of the linked Microsoft account. If you did what I did and connect first, simply disconnect and click the back button a few times to return and set up locally. Once on the desktop you can connect to a MS account if you want. Third, it has a 500gb SSD and a 1tb HDD. The description doesn't mention this and the product page on Acer.com only mentioned there are a total of 2 slots for pci or sata3 2.5" drives. The OS is on the SSD. Fourth, software... there is a little bloatware but not a lot. Default settings aren't bad but the backlight is bright and the timezone might need adjustment. Predator Sense software makes it easy do modify the color profile, however, the PS software mobile app only supports about 6 models, and this isn't one of them, slightly disappointing. The app was last updated in March 2020 and comes with the latest version, or was updated automatically when setup was in progress. The windows updates aren't bad, 45 minutes max and I was ready to go. This is my first laptop purchase in a long time. I've had the same laptop for almost a decade and it worked well. I figure since it was also an Acer, this should last a while.
