I think I can start my review on this notebook by stating that this is a mid-tier, budget friendly (especially when it goes on sale at BestBuy) gaming notebook. If we look at its specifications (Acer Nitro V with 16" WUXGA 165Hz Gaming Laptop, packed with Intel Core 7 240H and NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5050, RAM: 16GB Memory and 512GB of SSD Storage in Obsidian Black color) you get the bare bones, well spec'ed notebook that will not disappoint you as a gamer and if you would like to use it for your every day tasks or work. Let's talk build quality and its aesthetics. I think it’s sturdy enough for a gaming laptop but not rigid like metal builds. The weight (4.63 pounds) and thickness (less than an inch) are well proportioned and it is quite comfortable to keep it on your lap for some time if you wish. I think Acer chose the materials for cost efficiency, not for premium aesthetics, however the keyboard is amazing and feels great in fast paced gaming. I really like the backlit feature with RGB customization, the keys are very responsive. Its 16" IPS display supports 165Hz refresh rate and thanks to the Geforce RTX 5050 dedicated GPU you get nice details and clarity, it is also bright enough in scenes needing those vibrant colors and contrast. My experience playing titles like Marvel Vs Capcom, Madden 2025, and Immortals of Aveum was defined by exceptionally fast loading times and seamless, stutter-free gameplay. The galore of available ports is also a huge plus, you get pretty much the latest variants and specs of USB, HDMI (supports 48Gbps) however you get WiFi 6 instead of 7. To bump up your overall experience, I would highly recommend to upgrade your RAM to 32GB and your storage to at least 1TB down the road, as you will find that your fast storage will fill up quickly. It is a well designed and well built notebook in my opinion, perfect for someone who enjoys gaming and good performance, it "punches" above its price, especially in battery life, cooling stability and high‑refresh gaming.

Gaming laptops fit a unique niche of users. Everyday users wont get much use from a true gaming device. However, if you are a gamer and looking for a solid unit, this is a good one to look at. First, design. The design is pretty standard for a gaming laptop. They do run larger due to cooling needs. This one is no exception but is definitely portable. The laptop does run hot under load but there is not much speed loss or issues what that (unless you like to hold it on your lap). There are a good number of ports on the unit and you should be able to attach most anything you need. It does have a standard USB port. The reason I gave it four stars instead of 5 is for the trackpad. It seems flimsy and doesn’t respond the best but I’m still getting used to it so that may change. For performance, the Intel Core 7 240H is a capable gaming processor. It has 10 cores and 16 threads (6 performance and 4 efficiency). I was able to benchmark it at 23856 for multithread and 3589 for single thread. My unit came with 16GB of DDR 5 memory and it’s a huge plus that you can upgrade the RAM (2 slots) and or add another SSD. For graphics, the GeForce RTX 5050 is what this comes with and it is very good indeed. I was able to play games such as Flight Simulator 2024 at high detail. I also played Doom Eternal at full 1080p resolution and it looked great. Overall this is a solid gaming laptop.
