I’ve been using the Predator Helios 18 AI for a little while now, and so far I’m very impressed. The 18-inch 4K 240Hz display is absolutely beautiful, and the combination of the Core Ultra 9, RTX 5090, and 64GB of RAM handles everything I throw at it with ease. Gaming performance is excellent, but I also use it for photo and video editing, and the extra screen space and powerful hardware make a huge difference. It is a large and heavy laptop, and the fans can get noticeable under heavy load, but that is expected from a machine with this level of performance. The build quality feels solid, the keyboard is comfortable, and overall it really feels like a desktop replacement rather than a typical laptop. It’s definitely expensive, but if you need maximum performance and don’t mind the size, this is an impressive machine. So far, I’m very happy with my purchase and would recommend it to anyone looking for a high-end gaming and creative workstation.

Laptop has the power to perform at the highest level, even with the most unoptimized games on the market (Tarkov). Screen is big and bright. The new generation of cooling fans keep the laptop/keyboard cool even under load. Fans can get loud when ramped up to cool down, but quickly dissipate the heat and the noise returns to normal range, seems standard for gaming laptops using so much power these days. The RGB lighting can be distracting while gaming, but easily turned down/off or adjusted to personal preference. Availability to increase RAM from a hearty 64 gig to 128g max or adding additional hard drives to the empty slots is also very nice perk when purchasing a new rig with "future proofing" in mind. Would recommended this laptop to any serious gamer looking for the convenience of portability.

Very colorful. I purchased this for a heavy software development and its been doing the job very well so far. Cons: It does not last long enough on battery, the fan can be loud and it’s super heavy. I got mine for 3500. The screen is so beautiful and bright.

I’ve been using this laptop for gaming, work, and content creation, and it has exceeded my expectations. This this is a absolute unit. Very sturdy build can get load when on load but thats to he expected. Its portable but recommend a case. Beast at what it does.

This is an early review, so I may revisit next year. I updated from a machine that I loved but like us all it was feeling its age. Pros; The fans might run non stop but are very quite. The speed of the startup is only ruined by Windows 11. The screen has no issues in bright rooms but like all screens (even with anti glare) has some refelective issues in Direct Sun Light. The battery is great but does need to be cared about like dumming down graphics, brightness, sound and turning on the ultra battery saver is supper easy. I have not really tested the battery to give a thumbs up or down. The lighting effects make the wife go "AAHHH, OOOHHH" The screen is amazing and amazing for others watching you kill some dragons saving the world, again. I am running some pretty heavy games and so far this monster is delightful in every sense of it. I love 6 ports this monster has which everyone of them is used. Cons The sound coming the speakers are weak but louder than my last laptop. I will continue using BT speakers or headset. The size is crazy (smothers the airplane table) and the weight is to be considered a deadly weapon. I considered it worth it and feel stronger for it. The power cable is slightly shorter than I would hope but the power source is the crazy part. It is heavy in its own right and does 400W. Its hard to find a docking station that will support it with the 3 monitors and all the other goodies. Bottom line, even though I got this on sale I am certain on my decision over the other model I was looking at.

I bought this for gaming, and use as an AI lab. It has met my expectations on both counts. I did add an additional 4tb M.2 linux partion for ainwork, as the 2tb windows partition it came with was very limiting.

Got it at a discount. Absolutely amazing, easly upgradeable, added 2 4tb drives in addition to the 2 tb included. Fan gets loud. It runs hotter than other brands, an external cooling fan would fix that.

Great computer, fast processing, I run machine learning projects with the 5090. The system can take heavy workloads and I haven't seen any overheating. I'd give the computer a 4.8. The only thing I didn't like is that the sound gets distorted when listening via the external speakers at higher volume (I got a replacement and still had the problem) so I did the simple fix of adding external speakers, and the sound is now great. (I bought during a BestBuy Holiday sale, and got a $900 discount, so you might want to wait for the next holiday sale to see if they have a price drop). It's heavy to carry around, but I guess that's good exercise.

The display is crisp it is nice to once again to have a 4k screen on the go. The value is great i get all of great features for about 2K less than what an Alienware would cost plus a 4K screen that is not offered on Alienwares.

Overall, this is a pretty good gaming laptop. The performance is excellent, and I’ve been able to play games at high settings without any issues. Games run smoothly, and the RTX 5090 handles demanding titles very well. The main downsides are the size, weight, noise, and heat. This laptop is very heavy, so it’s not something I would want to carry around often. The fans also get quite loud when gaming, and the laptop generates a significant amount of heat under heavy load. Overall, if you’re looking for a powerful gaming laptop and don’t mind the weight, fan noise, and heat, the Acer Predator Helios 18 AI is a solid choice.

I've had this Acer Predator about a month and it has been flawless with one note - I have 3 external monitors - 2 connected to the Thunderbolt Ports and one to the HDMI port. The Thunderbolt bolts gave me some issues and weren't always working. Research told me that they will sometimes become disabled due to static electricity. I performed the simple steps noted and they came right back. If you have that issue, step 1) turn off the computer, Step 2) disconnect all cables including the power cord. I also removed the wireless keyboard/mouse key, Step 3) hold the power button down for 45 seconds. Once it comes up you can reconnect everything that the Thunderbolt ports should be functioning as normal. Enjoy. It's a great computer!!

Fast, stable. Run three monitors while gaming and doing other projects. Runs COD at highest settings 120fps with the three monitors going (1440 not 4 or 8k but think it would keep up on single monitor 4k no prob). Put it on a Llano v12 to keep the GPU temps below 70C when on COD.

A beast but ram only works at 4400 mhz. Screen is awesome. I got it for 3500.

I have this powerhouse hooked up to a 34" curved screen when I sim race at home. The graphics are so clean and smooth while playing Forza Motorsport that it can start to feel like reality. Hitting a wall for the first time was legit intense and got me pumped for more racing. When not hooked up to the rig, the 18" screen is a fast action piece of art while playing CoD. ACER for the win!

I got mine for 3500 a couple weeks ago; if you’re going to get it id get it on a discount. Blackfriday or holiday discount . I also have a 4080 18” last years model.. honestly the screen difference is not that significant tbh. I would have gotten another 4080 if they were still some new ones. if youre an average gamer and not in the professionals.. id even go for a 5080 but considering the 5090 was at 3500 i got it.

The power of this laptop is amazing. In most games, I can set the graphics to the maximum, and they stay almost consistently at 100 FPS. Recommended✅

Works well. Good as most desktops. Screen is nice aswell. No issues aswell. One month and a half of constant use.
