I picked up the new Acer Predator Neo with the OLED screen and the RTX 5070 Ti, and overall it’s a really solid machine packed with some great features, though it still has a few quirks you should know about. **The Good:** * **That screen is drop-dead gorgeous:** The picture quality is amazing. Because it’s an OLED screen, the colors pop, the blacks are pitch black, and games look stunning. Plus, the high refresh rate makes everything look super smooth. * **Ports are in all the right places:** I really love that many of the main cables (like the power and video plugs) go into the *back* of the laptop instead of the sides. This keeps all the wires away from your mouse hand, which makes your desk look and feel way cleaner. * **Incredible performance for the price:** For what you pay compared to other high-end brands, you get a ton of gaming power. It handles heavy games and multitasking smoothly without stuttering during normal play. * **Fast loading and plenty of room:** With a fast processor and 1TB of storage, everything boots up in seconds, and you have plenty of space to install a bunch of large games without constantly deleting things. **The Bad:** * **It runs hot and gets loud:** Because I believe they made the laptop thinner in there, the fans have to work extra hard. When you push it with heavy gaming, it gets pretty hot and loud, and the internal parts have to slow down a bit to keep from overheating. * **The sound isn't great:** The built-in speakers sound tinny and lack bass, so you'll definitely want to use a good pair of headphones. * **It feels a bit light for my taste:** Even though it’s thinner, I personally prefer a thicker, heavier feel because it makes a laptop feel sturdier and higher quality. This one feels a bit too lightweight and plastic-y in places. **The Bottom Line:** If you want an incredible screen, great ports layout, and awesome performance without spending a fortune, this is a fantastic computer. However, if you care more about heavy-duty metal build quality and a thick, tank-like feel, you might want to look at a bulkier model.
