Customer Ratings & Reviews

I was looking for something small and compact for general use. It’s pretty slick. Just a few things… first, I expected it to be a tad faster. It feels slow if too much is going on. Maybe that’s because it only has 8gb of ram… under the specs, it states that there is a second memory slot. I purchased an additional 8gb of ram to upgrade this PC but after opening it to install it, there is actually only one slot. So I had to return it and purchase a 16gb stick. The listing states it can only go up to 16gb, so I’m not sure if it can go beyond that or not since the other details were inaccurate.

After using the Acer Revo Box Mini PC for a couple of days, I would describe it as a basic but capable desktop computer. Nothing about its performance is especially high-end, but it does a good job with the everyday tasks it was designed to handle. Email, web browsing, document creation, spreadsheets, streaming, and other routine activities all work well. It can also handle some lighter creative tasks, but this would not be my choice for serious gaming, video editing, or other graphics-intensive work. The Revo Box is extremely compact and weighs only about one pound, making it easy to place almost anywhere. Acer also includes a mounting bracket that allows it to be attached to the back of a monitor. This is a nice option if you want a clean workspace without a desktop tower sitting on or under the desk. Despite its small size, it has a useful selection of connections. The front includes two USB-A ports, one USB-C port, and a headphone jack. On the back are two additional USB-A ports, an HDMI port, a DisplayPort, and two Ethernet ports. It supports as many as three monitors through HDMI, DisplayPort, and USB-C, which is impressive for such a compact and affordable computer. Inside is an Intel N150 quad-core processor running at up to 3.6 GHz, integrated Intel graphics, 8GB of DDR4 memory, and a 512GB PCIe solid-state drive. The 8GB of memory is modest by today’s standards, but it is enough for normal daily use as long as you are not running too many demanding programs at once. The memory can be upgraded to 16GB, although there is only one memory slot. The 512GB SSD provides a reasonable amount of storage for documents, photos, and regular applications while also helping Windows and programs load quickly. It has Wi-Fi 6E and Bluetooth 5.2 built in and comes with Windows 11 Home preinstalled, so very little setup is required before getting started. Overall, the Acer Revo Box Mini PC does not try to be a gaming system or high-performance workstation. It is a small, lightweight, and practical desktop that handles the basics well. It would be a good fit for general home use, schoolwork, a compact office setup, or anyone who wants an affordable Windows PC without taking up much space.

This mini desktop PC looks small but sure is mighty. It is perfect for day-to-day tasks, takes up very little room, and is easy to set up and get started with it. *What’s included?* The Revo Box comes with a 4.5’ power cable and a metal mounting device. It can be mounted on the back of compatible monitors to have a neater workspace. *Ports* - 4 USB-A ports - 1 USB-C port - 2 ethernet ports - 1 HDMI out port - 1 DisplayPort - 1 audio jack *Functionality* Setting up the PC was quick, similar to most PC’s. It works flawlessly, connected easily to the Wi-Fi, and so far, has the average load time of a regular sized PC. At 8GB RAM, it does have its limitations on multitasking. Just running my browser puts it at around 70% capacity. Still, it has incredibly quick load times, works seamlessly, and runs quietly even when the fan turns on. It has more than enough ports to support a variety of needs and potential set-ups. It is also highly portable if that is necessary, with the caveat that you still would need a monitor, mouse, and keyboard wherever you plan to use it. But I love that I can just go and hook it up to any tv in the house so easily and it is less obtrusive than a laptop. The one downside for me in all of this is how short the power cable is. It limits placement and barely makes it to the outlet in my set-up. *Conclusion* Ultimately, I find this PC is perfect for anyone who just needs a computer for average tasks – school, work, leisure. It allows for a neater desk with a box than can easily be kept out of sight. It is a highly functional and powerful little computer for everyday needs.

This is honestly the first time I have ever seen a brand-new computer struggle and stutter during the initial Windows setup prompts that appear when you first turn the computer on. That gave me an indication right out of the box that I might be in trouble. I have tried pretty extensively to get this mini computer to perform at what I believe should be a reasonable level, and I have failed at just about every angle. One of the most perplexing things about the Acer Revo Box is the amount of bundled and promotional software that comes with it. This is an extremely modest system with an Intel N150 processor and only 8 GB of DDR4 RAM, yet out of the box I found things like McAfee, Booking.com, Forge of Empires, and other background services and promotional software. On a computer with this little processing headroom to begin with, that seems like a terrible choice. The first thing I tested was the 4K display capability over DisplayPort. I connected it to my Alienware 4K monitor and was pleasantly surprised that it immediately recognized the monitor and configured itself at the proper 3840 x 2160 resolution and 60 Hz refresh rate. I thought that was a promising start. Unfortunately, that is about where the good news ended. I knew something was wrong when the text input was stuttering during my very first browser search. I went straight to YouTube and tried playing several shorts. Every one of them stuttered at some point. I am talking about the kind of stuttering where the video slows or freezes momentarily and then suddenly speeds up to catch back up, or simply chops intermittently during playback. The processor seems to be taxed just handling the basic functions of Windows, and trying to do much beyond that falls flat very quickly. I ran Speedometer 3.1, which is a browser-based benchmark to measure the responsiveness of web applications. The results were abysmal. I could not break a score of 5 (out of 140). I tested both 4K and 1080p resolutions, and surprisingly, lowering the display resolution made virtually no difference. In one test, I actually scored slightly higher at 4K than I did at 1080p. Logically, I spent a lot of time in my task manager to see what was taxing the system. While simply sitting at the desktop and doing nothing, I watched CPU usage jump from around 3% all the way to 97%. At one point Windows Explorer alone was using approximately 70% of the CPU, even after I killed process after process to try and find the source. I checked windows updates, let the computer idle for hours to ensure all initial startup processes were settled, killed Microsoft defender, everything. At one point I stabilized my processer, but it immediately started spiking again as soon as I opened any program. Memory usage was routinely very high as well, despite the fact that I was doing almost nothing with the computer. What disappoints me most is that I actually really like the idea behind this machine. It is tiny, attractive, and includes a mounting solution that allows you to attach it to the back of a monitor and essentially turn almost any display into an all-in-one computer. I think that is a fantastic concept. It means you can spend money on a really nice monitor without tying the useful life of that monitor to the computer inside it. When the computer gets old, replace the little box and keep the display. Ironically, I do think I am going to find a use for it, just not the use it is being sold for. My plan is to wipe Windows from it and turn it into a headless Linux server. Without Windows, antivirus software, promotional applications, desktop graphics, and all of the other background services competing for its limited resources, the hardware should make a pretty interesting little low-power server for some of my lightweight APIs, Docker containers, n8n automations, monitoring services, and similar tasks. The N150 processor makes much more sense to me in that role. It uses very little power, produces very little heat, takes up almost no space, and should be perfectly capable of handling lightweight server workloads without all of the overhead of a Windows desktop environment. I actually think I may be surprisingly happy with it once I make that conversion. As a mini desktop though, I can't see anyone being happy with this computer. I struggled to do the most basic functions with this Mini PC, and ultimately spent more time trying to troubleshoot it than actually getting to use it. The time I did spend on it left me feeling frustrated and as if something were wrong, but every test I ran just pointed to it underperforming for what it should be capable of.

It isn’t the flashiest of the mini boxes you could get, but dual NICs at this price is pretty good if you have a niche use for it.

I bought this a replacement for an old stationary laptop and I am pleased with the result. The ability to attach to a monitor with VESA is a big plus. The ports meet the needs and the processing is plenty adequate for basic daily tasks for a reasonable price point.

I was able to install linux and quickly get a plex server up and running. Very happy with the purchase.

Bought it as a simple NOC. Works great! make sure the specs meet your needs.

This is a piece of junk. Turns off all the time and can't have more then one thing at a time.

The Acer Revo Box Mini PC Desktop with the Intel N150 processor is surprisingly capable for something so compact and lightweight. It is small enough to fit almost anywhere, but it still provides plenty of connectivity ports if you want to use it as a standalone Windows desktop PC with a monitor, keyboard, mouse, storage devices, and other accessories. For everyday use, this mini PC does a very good job. Basic productivity tasks, web browsing, email, document work, remote access, and streaming all run smoothly at decent speeds. It is a complete Windows setup, not just a basic streaming box, so it gives you the flexibility to use it as a normal desktop computer while taking up only a fraction of the space of a traditional tower. One feature I really like is the included mounting bracket. You can mount the Revo Box behind a television and turn the TV into a smart TV or all-in-one PC setup. After the initial setup, Bluetooth connectivity makes it easy to pair a wireless keyboard and mouse, which gives you a simple way to browse the web, stream content, access files, or use Windows from the couch. It is a very clean option for someone who wants a PC experience without putting a full-size computer next to the television. Acer advertises that this mini PC can support three monitors through HDMI, DisplayPort, and USB-C video output, and yes, it is capable of doing that. However, it is important to be realistic about the hardware. With an Intel N150 mobile processor and only 8GB of DDR4 memory, it can run the multi-monitor setup as advertised, but it is very basic and does become a little slow when you begin multitasking heavily across several displays. That may sound like nitpicking, especially because I am used to much faster PCs with higher-end specs, but it is worth mentioning for anyone expecting desktop gaming-PC speed from such a small and budget-friendly unit. For my own use, I was looking forward to setting this up as an always-on home network hub, and it has been perfect for that role. The compact size allows it to tuck away neatly inside my network cabinet, where it can stay powered on without taking up valuable space. It is also extremely power efficient, runs very quietly, and does not get very hot, which makes it ideal for leaving on around the clock. Right now, I have it set up as a home network hub PC for file sharing and remote desktop access when I am away from home. That has been a great use case because it gives me access to my network without needing to leave one of my larger, more power-hungry PCs running all the time. It handles remote access, everyday network tasks, and basic productivity very well, and I appreciate knowing it is quietly running in the background without generating much heat or noise. Overall, the Acer Revo Box Mini PC is a solid and versatile little machine as long as you understand what it is designed for. It is not going to replace a powerful gaming PC or workstation for demanding multitasking, but it is more than capable for web browsing, streaming, documents, light productivity, basic multi-monitor use, and always-on home-network duties. For now, it is working perfectly as my remote-access and file-sharing hub, but I can easily see myself expanding its role in the future to take even more advantage of what this small mini PC can do.

Acer enters into the Mini PC game ready to play. Right out of the gate I will say, if you are a serious gamer, video editor, or need a device to handle other demanding use cases, this is NOT for you. This review is not a comparison between the Acer Revo Mini PC and the latest, greatest, bleeding edge devices on the market. I am evaluating this for its intended use cases and target market. I was immediately struck by the appearance. While not a centerpiece item, this PC is aesthetically pleasing. It blends in nicely to my secondary setup, which is primarily white. The compact form factor doesn't eat up desk space. Now, to be competitive in the lower-tier PC market and stay budget friendly, sacrifices have to be made, and this is true here. The housing is plastic and there is some definite give when pushing on the top of the PC and air vents. I wouldn't call it flimsy, but it's definitely not the most sturdy, and it will certainly hold up to the minimal handling a desktop PC should experience. The processor is on the lower tier and with only 8GB of RAM you aren't going to be playing the latest graphics intense games or exporting 8K videos, even if this device does support up to three monitors simultaneously. What it does well is handle general everyday use. Spreadsheets, documents, presentations, YouTube, email, and web browsing are all handled without a hiccup. Multiple instances of my browser open while watching my favorite creators, and several open applications - zero issues. There are plenty of ports, including dual LAN, 4 USB-A, HDMI, display, and even a headphone jack. I'm a little perplexed why there is only one USB-C. Yes, you can utilize a hub or dongle, but the addition of a second USB-C port would have been appreciated. I definitely want to giver Acer props for not loading this PC with bloatware. Very, very minimal additional software has been added, and this was great to see. I have this PC setup as our secondary device, utilizing dual screens, WiFi, wireless keyboard and mouse, and webcam. It is being used now when someone in the home needs to do homework, doing a quick web search, or homework. Higher end needs such as video editing / exporting are done with my primary setup. This is a great "everyday use" PC, ideal for students and those with lighter needs. No, it doesn't have the best processor, the most RAM, and all the "gee whiz" specs. There are PCs out there if that's what you need. But Acer has done well in creating a solid PC for the average user.

Pros: -Compact and quiet -Plenty of Ports -Easy set up Cons: -Only 8GB of Ram The REVO is a compact and lightweight PC. It stays quiet and keeps cool during operation. The performance is what’s expected for the specs it has, but those specs are low making it only good for minor tasks like browsing or streaming. The setup was easy, but it took quite a while. I did like that it was doing the updates first as it was going through the setup, but it did took quite a while. Expect to give it about 45 minutes to an hour to complete the setup. Build quality seems good. All components are very light, so the device hardly weighs anything. I used this device for my guest room, where I have a monitor set up for guests to plug in and use. It’s so compact that you can't tell there is a computer behind the monitor. It also has plenty of ports. In the front there’s 2 USB and a USB-C port. On the back there’s another 2 USB ports, an Ethernet port, an HDMI, and a display port. The mini PC is mainly set up to be able to use as a streaming device, and it does a decent enough job for that. Given the specs, I didn’t have high expectations for its performance. It’s quite slow with only 8GB of RAM, which doesn't do much with today’s memory intensive apps. Windows alone will use up most of that. Expect a good bit of bloatware from WIndows as well. It's quiet and well ventilated keeping it cool during use. For what it is, its performance is fine. It’s light and compact and has all the needed ports. The specs are low making it slow and unsuited to demanding tasks. The System should do fine for light browsing, word processing and watching youtube or streaming services.

I've been looking for a simple small pc to keep on to run a few agents that are currently running on a laptop I have to keep on. This Revo PC has turned out to be a really good option for running a few small purposeful tasks. I needed something that was afforable, small and didnt get in the way. This PC checks many of those boxes without too many compromises. The PC itself is a pretty unassuming little box, it comes with a mount to mount it to the back of a monitor and an AC adapter in the box. Other than that it really doesnt try to add too many bells and whistles. Performance wise it works about how you would expect a cheap mini pc to run. It isn't very fast and really only works well for browing the web or running a few simple tasks. It absolutely would not work to run games, but that isn't what it was designed for. My only issue with the PC and it's really with most PCs, is the amount of bloatware installed. The first 20 minutes of using this device consisted of uninstalling all kinds of useless software and games that I didn't need. I know thats part of how they keep the cost of this machine so low, but it is pretty annoying. If you are looking for a small unassuming PC that isn't going to suprise you and you don't need to run very much other than a web browser or office software, this could be a good budget option for you.

Small desktop computers like this have been popping up all over the place in recent years, and for good reason. Processors have been getting smaller, cooler, and more power efficient, while having similar performance to the top tier processors of just a couple years ago. But before that was the case, they didn't tend to do very well because they just weren't very good. They had cheap, low-end processors, small amounts of RAM and storage, and sometimes would have temperature problems. This computer doesn't have those temperature problems, but everything else is a clear reminder of why USFF computers like this weren't liked by many. Don't get me wrong - it's perfectly usable, as far as computers go. It's just not a great experience. With only 8 gigs of RAM, and equipped with an Intel N150, you don't have the processing power to do much of anything outside of the basics. Opening Windows apps is slow, having more than a few tabs open makes it slow, trying to multitask is slow. If you wanted to do anything more than word processing on this, you would likely struggle. And it's a shame, because there's a lot of great things about it. I think it looks fantastic. It's simple, and could fit anywhere without being out of place. It has excellent build quality, too. There's no loose edges, or parts that you can pry up with a fingernail. It comes with a bracket and screws, to attach to the back of a monitor on the VESA mounting points, so it can be almost like an all-in-one experience. It's easy to take apart, and if you want, you can upgrade the storage (NVME) and RAM, although there's only one slot for each, so you wouldn't be able to add things cumulatively. You'd have to replace it altogether. It's worth noting, also, that no keyboard or mouse are included. You will have to supply your own. For the cost, this isn't worth the money. You have to supply your own peripherals, you get underwhelming performance, and you're stuck with Windows 11. I think this could make a decent computer for a Plex server, or an NAS, if you were so inclined. But you could do that with computers for a quarter of the cost on used item auction sites, too.

I’ve been able to spend some time with us. He so many PC and it really has been a great addition to my fleet of computers. I currently have it set up in my living room in my home theater system so I guess you could say it’s a home theater PC/server. I’m currently using it to play games and for video conferencing as well as streaming video games from my consoles from the living room. It’s small form factor helps a lot with keeping it portable enough to have in the home theater set up and not be massive in a sense. They also is powerful enough to run some classic games as well as streaming. It has been a perfect addition to my set ups it also has tons of ports, which I am definitely a fan of because it feels like these days. Most computers are switching to the dongle model where you only have maybe one USB and one USB-C port, but this one has a lot of utility. It even has dual LAN which is wild to see on this form factor. Also included is a mount for a monitor so you can mount it straight to a monitor if you chose too. This Mini PC is perfect for light to medium use and can fit anywhere you need it.
