I am coming from about 5 years on a Surface Pro on which I was unable to upgrade to Windows 11 due to an inefficient processor, plus I've experienced years of my computer having meltdowns over too many open Chrome tabs and the like. The most important factor for me in choosing my next computer was a good processor which wasn't likely to become obsolete any time soon. Also, I found the Surface's tablet/kickstand configuration useful when I first got it (as a college student) but have since found that I wanted to go back to the old fashioned hinge top laptop which I could use anywhere. I started my hunt by looking at the Surface Laptop which was nice but seemed a bit expensive when I started widening my search. What attracted me to this choice was the processor, the slimness and weight (a bit larger than my old surface which is great, but just as light), and the amount of ports! I have greatly missed an HDMI port in my years with the Surface and was stoked to see every type of port I could dream of using on this laptop, with the bonus of not needing a dedicated charger -- it charges on USB-C! I took a bit of a downgrade on graphics, though I honestly don't need a super crisp OLED screen for my daily driver so it wasn't a hard trade off to make. I also lost the touchscreen feature which I did like on the Surface but that also wasn't a dealbreaker. I think, so far, that this is a super awesome value. I paid far less than I would have for a Surface Laptop, got more functionality, a better processor, and a user experience that I'm very pleased with so far. I have zero purchase regrets so far.
