Q: Is there any sound coming from these I have damaged hearing I was told the sound came from vibration is that correct

A: I have hearing loss and I use hearing aids. That rules out ear buds. These use bone conduction. I can leave my aids in if I choose. I can use them without my aids and still get great fidelity. I am extremely satisfied with them.

Q: How do these charge since a USB charging cable is not included? Also, are earplugs sold separately (unlike previous models)?

A: They do come with a charging cable. It's a magnetic charging cable. If you didnt recieve a charging cable I would contact them or who u bought them through. Attached is the charging cable that is included in the package

Q: Can the batteries be replaced when their durability decreases? If so, what type (part number) is required?

A: Good luck getting Aftershokz or Shokz to honour a warranty claim!! My Aeropex headset died after 6months, and whilst initially they were I interested whilst gathering information, as soon as I’d jumped through all the hoops and provided all the correct information, they then stopped responding..all my emails were very polite..there is a reason they offer no telephone number..hmm steer clear..Fortunately I’m getting a refund from Amazon..shame as I loved the headset

Q: one reviewer liked the previous model better. what is the name of the previous model? or is it the same name but a newer version?

A: Trying to decide myself. Each version is lighter than the prior version. The Aeropex is the newest. 2nd newest are the Airs, before that was the Titanium—just look at the prices. Trade offs seem to be significant improvement in sound and battery life from Titanium to Air, update to Bluetooth 5.x, slight sound improvement and switch to magnetic charging in Aeropex. Eliminating the charging port makes the Aeropex more water and dust proof, and the chargers cost more to provide (you get two chargers with Aeropex but can’t use any other charging cable). From looking at a lot of reviews, it seems like different people fit the Air or Aeropex slightly better, but overall, most people do find each version better than the prior one. The price differences are pretty big right now, so it’s hard to know if the incremental improvements are worth the price difference.

Q: What makes these stand out as a quality listening device

A: The sound in these is /really good/ for bone conduction headsets. Midrange to highrange is very clear, and just pops, voice is perfectly clear, and the volume is quite decent. The downside is that bone conduction headsets are not great for bass. I estimate the sound cuts out at about 40Hz, compared to 20 Hz for normal headphones (and 5 Hz for good ones). The 'speakers' may be able to do lower frequencies, but then it has to go through your tissue, which tends to muffle sounds. You will get better sound quality on good normal headphones. On the upside, since they don't cover your ears you can still hear everything. This makes them a godsend for when you're biking, running, or walking, because you won't be one of those completely oblivious dopes who can't hear anything around you. Plus, headphones or earbuds can get kind of sore or sweaty after a while (especially while doing active stuff), but these just sit in front of your ears and I can wear them for hours without getting tired of them. I turn up the bass boost a bit, which helps, and accept a little less bass for the freedom.

Q: Do these fit comfortably if the listener is always wearing eyeglasses ?

A: Well, I went ahead and purchased the AfterShokz - Aeropex Wireless Headphones before my original question was answered! Now I can answer it myself! They fit fine with my always on eyeglasses. I am very glad I got the unique headphones. It is indeed great to have 100% environmental awareness. I have a very big head, literally, & possibly figuratively :) and they seem to expand nicely. I anticipate comfortably wearing them for quite a while! The headphones paired immediately with my phone & scanner (with Bluetooth transmitter), and when tested with phone calls quality was excellent, They are definitely a winner!

Q: Can this device connect to both a cell phone and laptop concurrently via bluetooth?

A: That is how I have been using mine for over a year. My employer supplied my fist pair so I have had a great experience with them.
