When I played the first Alan Wake game way back in 2010 I was captivated because of the gripping story-line and a light horror but dark atmosphere of the world which were incredible to me for that time way back over 16 years ago today. Now Alan Wake 2 comes along and just nails it on the head to what a sequel should achieve & holy buckets what a ride!! It executes Alan Wake's name with honor by providing the gamer not just the same but overall much better gaming adventure in every way compared to the first Alan Wake game. I won't ruin any of the story aspects because that is about half of the meat n bones to this gaming experience but I will list some of the reasons why this video game is brilliant for me. Pros: - With the Deluxe Edition you get DLC & The First ALAN WAKE Game Included. - A Complex World to roam around with haunting & beautiful atmospheres that will draw any gamer who likes/loves this genre of game. - The Visuals in graphics are amazing and utilize the best of this generations technologies such as Ray Tracing & Path Tracing. This creates a signature photorealistic lighting + shadows that make the Worlds come alive to the point sometimes you forget you are playing a video game it is that crazy to gaze upon at times. - The Gameplay is so much better than the first game's engine and you can tell right away plus feel it in every move and action you take. Solid gaming mechanics that feel responsive and fun! - The Two Characters which you take control of are very flushed out with distinct interesting personalities along with their backrounds within the unfolding storyline is truly captivating and unforgettable. - The Music & Sound Effects are top notch and if you are wearing headphones or have surround sound speakers it will keep you on your toes and freaked out between the whispering subtle noises/voices to the vibrant and loud dark kicks.. the sound-effects that pump out will have you wanting more. Cons: NONE.. ok maybe I do have one negative opinion. I wish the game was longer! I loved it that much!

Awesome game. The plot is complex but, well written and, even though it gets a bit psychedelic at times, it is still very fun to play through the story and get immersed in its very intriguing journey. The action scenes and gameplay are very intense so I can see why it got so many awards.

A great horror story that builds off of its previous entry over 13 years before. The mechanics and game design is some of the most fun and creative ive seen.

Best Buy must not have an email because they could not provide me with one even though I asked multiple times. So I will provide the pictures here. It truly was not entirely their fault or maybe even their fault at all. But the game was packed in basically just a sleeve. NO bubble wrap, NO box, or any kind of cushion. I'm truly disappointed that the game came damaged the way it did. I have been issued a replacement but the principle still stands

Playing this has been an unforgettable experience. Playing through the remastered first game was the perfect way to get into Alan's world, cause I've never played before. It's fast tho, like 10+ hours, but the sequel took everything to the next level. The visuals are obv stunning, the atmosphere is gripping, and the story had me hooked from start to finish. I loved the mix of tension and discovery, with every detail immersing me deeper. If you’re into cinematic storytelling and psychological horror, this is an absolute must-play. The way it's set up as episodes of a show is very original imho.

Since this comes with a code for Alan Wake 1: I'll review that first - it doesn't particularly hold up. I played it back when it first released on the Xbox 360, and the graphics are extremely dated, the combat is mediocre, and the acting is painfully bad. However, the story is at least interesting, so I think it's worth replaying before trying the sequel. As for Alan Wake II, there's a lot to like about it. It looks nice, it's very atmospheric, it has interesting characters, and its storyline is very creative. However, there are some problems. For one, the combat is pretty bad. There's little enemy variety, and the controls are clunky. I often felt like I was losing fights for reasons outside of my control, and eventually had to turn the difficulty down because I wasn't enjoying the game on Normal. I also had some technical issues, including the game crashing on me once (forcing me to re-watch some dialogue when I restarted), sometimes the checkpoints are too far apart and I wound up losing progress due to a cheap death, and level boundaries are weirdly defined. I accidentally died wandering out of bounds once. Lastly, while I like the characters and the story has some interesting thematic elements, it was also very hard to follow. It was hard to keep track of what was real, certain character motivations, etc. At the very least, I did enjoy it as a whole, and I would recommend it. But I would recommend the Resident Evil and Silent Hill games over it. Lastly, this Deluxe Edition contains the DLC, and I will say that I enjoyed the mini-stories, and did not have the same issues with them as I did the main game. I would highly recommend that anyone who purchases this Edition check them out!

Alan Wake 2 is an incredible game. The combat, exploration, story, and variety of segments are all top-notch and make for the best game of 2023.

This is my first time playing Alan wake. I haven't played the first one yet. The game played smooth except for in the very beginning. When your on your first case. You can run into a bug. And you won't be able to access the map or your case board. And without completing the case board. You cannot move on. The only fix is to restart the game. Luckily this happens in the very beginning. After this, the game played flawlessly. The story is really good. And the atmosphere can get scary at times. Especially with the random jump scares. While there is action. This isn't a typical just run around shoot something up like call of duty. You spend alot of time trying to advance cases and find portals to get to a new scene. It's great game. It's on own class, there's not another game I can think of that's the same. I'd recommend it to anyone who likes a mix of horror and action.

You get a lot with this game and it’s definitely a blast! It’s more survival horror than the first game, so you have to use your items sparingly. You also get the DLC and the original Alan Wake (downloaded).
