I got this laptop on doorbuster so I got an amazing price. I play games for 8 hours and the system does not get hot and the fan is quiet. I researched this laptop before I bought it and the system lived up to its reputation. The display is great and shows definition in the game. The sounds is amazing and very clear. I can hear things I did not notice on my older laptop. I love the design and colors you can use to customize the lights on keyboard, side panels, track pad and cover. The weight does not bother me, as for all the features I get for the price it us well worth it. I can upgrade the system when needed so I won't be buying another system for years. I have owned the system for 3 weeks.

I was inspired to purchase this laptop by a show I saw on the internet. They were using this same laptop to stream their show with. When I could afford it, I purchased mine. It is the best purchase I have made in a long time. This laptop is amazing. It is fast, smooth, and handles everything I throw at it without slowing down. If you live stream to facebook, youtube, or any platform, This is the machine for you. It handles vMix flawlessly and can use up to 4 camera inputs without even thinking about it. Best purchase for me! Would be an amazing purchase for you too.... Oh, and it will handle probably any game you throw at it, including 3D..... Peace...

Nice graphics but lacks cd rom drive and memory card reader for my camera cards. Main reason for purchase was work which requires both of the above and ability to handle lots of applications open at one time. Handles the multiple applications very well. Just requires extra cords and external CD-ROM drive to import data and pictures. Unit is a little heavy for travel. Unit gets rather warm to the lap when ran for lengthy time. Would have preferred option for earlier version of windows. But handles programs and gaming very well.

I am slightly biased on my review of this laptop as I always have purchased Dell laptops in my lifetime. Recently, I decided to try out a different laptop brand because I wanted to try out the "thin" gaming laptops. It didn't work out as I was more comfortable with the Dell chassis and build. The other laptop brand seemed to be too fragile and it did malfunction during the first month of use. I travel a lot, do my school studies, often game on the road and this laptop, the Alienware 15 R3 is perfect for my wants and needs. It is a bit bulky and most certainly heavy but those make up for the solid feel and build. I wouldn't carry this around all day. It feels like a tank! The graphics card can handle the games that I play on it such as Diablo and WoW without any hiccups. The processing speed is more than enough than what I need it for. I've always gone overboard on my laptops. I used to have a Alienware 13R for about three years before this one but the screen was too small for my tastes. I am extremely happy with and would most certainly purchase another alienware when it is time to recycle this one. I am very pleased with it.

I received this computer as a gift for Christmas. It definitely has some weight to it but it is sturdy and constructed well. It runs perfect and I like how well the software specific to Alienware doesn’t bog the computer down. As soon as I got the computer I ran a VR benchmark on it and was surprised to see how well it performed. Definitely as close to a future proof computer as you can get. The only con I would give this laptop is the fan noise while intense gaming and the weight of the laptop but that is only if you are very picky. All of the lights you can see in the photo can be individually changed to multiple color types. The face recognition also works very well. I haven’t had a single problem with this laptop and am very pleased with everything it has to offer. It handles every game I throw at it on max settings so far, the most intensive game being Skyrim fully modded for 4k and it runs smooth.

I bought this laptop for gaming and video editing, and it has not let me down. I did buy it as an open-box and did have a few issues with the hard drive not being recognized and a popped up key on the keyboard. But I contacted dell support and they fixed everything under the standard warranty the laptop comes with. Since then I have not been let down and can play my games at the highest settings no problem. I only give it 4 stars based on how I was sold the laptop as being certified excellent, and it was not.

What a great computer for SolidWorks and EdgeCAM software. These programs will kill even the best computer setups and this laptop handles it very good. No real lag on the processing of very large files. It says a gaming computer but will handle engineer software with no problems. The laptop is also much cheaper than any other computer with the same specs. Dell has stepped up their game on this one.

Good thermals, excellent build quality, and amazing battery life (for a gaming laptop). I did a lot of research and it came down to this or the msi ge72 mvr and while that laptop is good too, the build quality on this one is far superior.I was worried about cpu thermals but honestly so far they are excellent maxing at 84c while playing Witcher 3 ultra with hair full.

I purchased this laptop to use with my oculus the performance is unbeatable for the price the only downside for me is I also use this for business and The size is a bit of a pain to lug around.

This laptop has exceeded my expectations. First, I want to mention how the speed of the computer is always fast. While that may sound like a vague description in terms of speed let me put it this way, I am one of those Google Chrome users that literally will have 80-120 tabs open at any given time. The fact that the laptop can tolerate this without freezing just makes me happy! Secondly, I also do video editing for my YouTube channel. Again, far exceeds my expectations. On prior laptops a 4 minute video in lower quality resolution could still take me 2-4 hours to render and encode but on this laptop I am able to render/encode a 4 minute video in 1080p 60 FPS in 10-20 minutes. Third, NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1070. Did I buy this gaming laptop originally for gaming? No! Apart from video production, at the end of 2017/beginning of 2018 I was looking for a high end graphics card at that time to learn cryptocurrency mining. For the point of self-education this laptop was very good in learning and setting up software to test this process out. Dell - Alienware device updates. Okay, this little program installed on this device is a great addition to the standard Windows Update for keeping the device updated. Webcam. My only drawback to this laptop is the webcam that is in 720 resolution. When I have tried to use it to create videos it really only produces decent quality if one is in a room that receives adequate sunlight. At night even with the use of daylight lamps there is still a sense of graininess in the recording that in today's online video content production standards is just not up to par. I would like to have seen this product have a 1080 p 60 FPS camera quality at a minimum.

Thus laptop is replacing a 17 inch laptop. All I can say is this thing is a beast. The time that I'm saving using this for photoshop will pay for itself in a matter of weeks. I was nervous spending the money for it as it is costly, is well worth every penny. The extra bells and whistles (led) are a nice touch and adds to the wow factor. From the games I played so far...awesome response. If you have never checked one of these out for photo editing. I would definitely recommend this.

I got this unit on sale for 1550, and its the nicest computer ive owned. Its very heavy at almost 8lbs, but i never see dips in performance, its got good battery life, fun rgb customization. Its sturdy, and surprisingly quiet

Had to return 2 of them, now on the 3rd....1st had a bad speaker, 2nd had a hardrive problem.but 3rd is so far so good. Fast, high powered.

Blazing speed, very fast! Heavy and sturdy. Worth every penny. Cool design, well lit. Keyboard has a great feel. Works well with 3d vector modeling and rendering.

Easy to up grade memory and ssd drive. Pleanty of speed for almost any project.

I absolutely love this computer. I was lucky enough to find this workstation as an "Open Box" sale. There is nothing that I can say bad about this computer. The only downfall, and its expected, is the weight. This laptop is definitely not designed for travelling, but if you are looking for power, this is your new best friend.
