The album was more commercially successful than The Jam's previous album, This Is the Modern World. The single InchDown in the Tube Station at MidnightInch was one of the band's most successful chart hits up to that point, peaking at #15 on the UK charts. British Invasion pop influences run through the album, most obviously in the cover of The Kinks' InchDavid WattsInch. The song InchDown in the Tube Station at MidnightInch is a first-person narrative of a young man who walks into a tube station on the way home to his wife, and is beaten by far right thugs. King Crimson - Beat - COMPACT DISCS [CD]

40th anniversary edition includes DVD. InchBeatInch was released in June 1982 just eight months after the 80s Crimson lineup debut album InchDisciplineInch. It marked the first occasion where a King Crimson line-up had remained intact for a two album stretch and was also the first album by the band to employ a separate producer - Rhett Davies. The juxtaposition of lyrics heavily influenced by 50s beat luminaries Jack Kerouac and Neal Cassady. The complex polyrhythmic musical textures of the '80s Crimson, the strength of the songs and the cohesion of the studio performances, all helped the album chart upon in the US and the UK. Album Tracks 1. Neal and Jack and Me (4 23) 2. Heartbeat (3 54) 3. Sartori in Tangier (3 35) 4. Waiting Man (4 24) 5. Neurotica (4 48) 6. Two Hands (3 23) 7. The Howler (4 12) 8. Requiem (6 36)

Deftones - Around the Fur - VINYL LP
    4.6(12)

Around the Fur the follow-up to Deftones' passionate, aggressive Adrenaline, sees the California quartet expanding on the sheer rage of their earlier work, adding new, more sinister shades to their already extreme sound. The opening InchMy Own Summer (Shove It),Inch serves as an introduction to the album's sonic theme sinewy guitars and eerie whispers alternate with fast, violent crunch. Sepultura's Max Cavallero contributes guitar and vocals to InchHeadup,Inch while InchMXInch finds singer Chino trading off vocal lines with Annalynn Cunningham, (wife of Deftones' drummer Abe) in an acerbic take on the rock star mentality. Vocal acrobat Moreno attacks a variety of styles his breathy, psychotic recitations sound downright industrial, while the album's calmer, more brooding moments show his gift for haunting melody. Behind him, guitarist Stephen Carpenter's heavy wall of sound is astoundingly muscular, yet inspiringly agile. When Deftones' hellish fury hits full tilt, as it always does on this album, Moreno's voice erupts into screams which are best described as otherworldly, transforming this intense musical firestorm into a hurtling juggernaut of aggression. This LP version comes pressed on 180 gram vinyl. Album Tracks 1. My Own Summer (Shove It) 2. Lhabia 3. Mascara 4. Around the Fur 5. Rickets 6. Be Quiet and Drive (Far Away) 7. Lotion 8. Dai the Flu 9. Headup 10. MX
