A: No you do not have to drill holes your window will hold it in the top has a lip and the sides have little fans that pull out attached very easy to install
Q: What's the inside depth? (How far does it protrude in front of window)?
A: Mine protrudes maybe 3 in not past the windowsill the same as any other AC unit
