Amazfit - Bip Max Smartwatch 50mm Silicone - Silver - (2026)

The Bip Max while being affordable, includes far more features then you might expect at this price point. Battery life, screen size, notifications, phone calls, Zepp app, multitude of workouts, sensors, and ease of use are all top shelf and in many ways, better than pricier options. The physical size and thickness of the watch itself might need to be considered before purchase. After several days of use, I like it, especially the alerts to get me up and moving more. Almost feels like the Amazfit Bip Max has a playful and motivating system to not make me feel bad if I ignore it and miss an opportunity to move and be active. I've included more in depth review below. Unboxing: The watch, 22mm silicone watch band, magnetic charge puck and paperwork. A USB-C cable is oddly not included and will be needed to recharge watch. Size: The Bip Max is big. The sensor(s) on the back, also protrudes a bit. And when on wrist it stands tall. If you wear a watch on the inside of wrist. Less of an issue. On top of wrist. It sits high and appears larger than many regular timepieces. Not a negative, just noting it for those with small wrists. I chose to swap my own 22mm stainless watch band for the included strap. Silicone bands are itchy to me. Metal watch bands are easier for me and I prefer the look. Comfort is decent for a larger timepiece. App/Software: The watch app is called Zepp. Very thorough app to setup nearly every aspect of the watch. There are far too many features and settings to name. Favorite feature so far, badges. Badges are awarded to sort of "gamify" your progress to help motivate you. The app is very good and beyond what I have used before because the whole watch can be controlled in just this one app. One login and done. Workouts most would do are here. Weather where I live has kept me mostly stuck walking indoors. It seems to be fairly active for steps so far. Hopefully, kayaking and cycling can get tested soon. Watch faces. There are plenty of free faces and a few fancier ones that can cost up to $2.99. The free options are very good. Additional apps are also available through the Zepp app. Many for free. Maps are also added through the app. A nearly 200 x 125 mile map is only about 200mb. So, you can save a few very large areas to track where you workout or drive to. GPS is quick and accurate. While driving it chimes as you change roads and highways. Might need to mute that. One oddity noticed. Occasionally, the night mode (screen goes green, red, or orange) comes on. Great feature for night, but not sure why it randomly activates. It has a time feature and maybe needs to be set. Daily Use: I am an older guy and just trying to motivate myself to be a little less sloth like. The first thing is the screen size is much easier to see and use, even without readers. Daily use and wearing the watch everywhere, except shower (Bip is waterproof), and the morning briefing just keeps me on top of goals I set for myself. Badges add to accomplishments. Yet, just knowing sleep scores and daily movement are leading to potentially better health is worth the minimal purchase price. The watch also allows you to keep your phone pocketed more often. Haptics and alerts for notifications all come in easily from my Android. Emails, text and camera alerts are text only. You can see emojis and reply with them, but pictures or thumbnails do not show. You can also take and make calls, and quality is pretty good. Bluetooth audio is also present, but did not test yet as storage of 4gb (2gb free) is not enough for me as a standalone music player. The Zepp Flow assistant is possibly still a work in progress. It had trouble doing what I ask. It might get better the more it is used. I do not have any accent, and it struggles to understand me. Sensors and features: While all the included sensors are typical of most smart watches and seem to be very accurate for movement, heart and blood health. I wanted to note the lack of ECG/EKG, fall detection, temperature and NFC. None of these are totally necessary. Just be nice if included, but then the price would be much higher. Buttons on the side can be assigned to nearly every feature or app in the watch. Single press, long press and double press. Final thoughts: The biggest consideration is the size of the watch. If you can wear a watch this big. Then don't give it a second thought and buy it. It works great on its own and in conjunction with my Android phone. You get over a week of use between charges. Workouts, tracking health or just being a watch that shows notifications without reaching for the phone. It can always be with you. The Amazfit Bip Max is really good value in smart watches.

It is lightweight and easy to read in bright light and in dark rooms since it glows with an auto adjust of the brightness. It vibrates when a text message, phone call, or other notification arrives on my phone, a 6 year old Samsung Android with OS 14. I have used it while swimming and it does not skip a beat or care that it gets wet. There is no altitude sensor or a temperature sensor in case those are needed. I see my text messages, WhatsApp messages, and notices of phone calls on the watch. I used it to both reply and to initiate text messages directly from the watch face using the dictation function to create the text message. Very cool. It also allows replying to WhatsApp messages. I can also use the Bip Max smartwatch to make and receive phone calls via my phone's Bluetooth. I tested that and it worked for a 45 minute phone call while on the pool deck to a friend who said he heard me clearly as well as the normal phone connection. The speaker is on the opposite side of the 2 physical buttons so if I'm wearing it on the left arm I need to hold it toward my right ear to hear it at its best. I also swim with the watch and it automatically senses I am swimming and keeps tracking laps, total time, and also displays my heartbeat while swimming, among other specs. Very cool. After 1 day of wearing it the fact I am wearing it is of no consequence since it is very lightweight and waterproof so no worry about damaging it when in the pool area or showering. It displays weather info such as expected low and high temperatures as well as the current temperature from your phone data. It also knows where you are from the phone GPS circuit (if turned on). The software in the watch has tons of workout and health applications that I will be eagerly learning as I continue to use the watch daily. It is a welcome enhancement of my healthy routing from now on. Recommended and the $100 price makes it a huge bargain compared to the A, S, M and G brand watches.

Since it arrived, I’ve worn this watch almost nonstop—while sleeping, showering, and checking the time throughout the day whenever my mom asks. It only needs to recharge every three to four days on its charging pad, which is convenient. I also appreciate its health features, though I do wish it could provide even more detailed personal health insights; unfortunately, that kind of capability is not available yet. I am totally amazed by this product, and apparently there are several more models as well. It includes many of the essential apps and features you would expect from a smartphone, while offering a range of options that helps you focus on what matters most in daily life. This version connects to your smartphone, can help locate it when misplaced, includes Bluetooth, and is durable enough to handle everyday wear while remaining waterproof. I even sleep with it on. It tracks key information such as blood pressure, weather, pulse, and oxygen levels, and it can display the time in styles similar to almost any watch you have owned. With its growing capabilities, it feels just one step away from becoming a full smartphone, a portable AI assistant, or even a compact laptop-like device. The base model that I own does everything and anything that I can expect from smartphones' most needed apps And is a piece of hardware that is built outstandingly resilient. This product almost makes me wish that I had an Amazon-built smartphone instead of the other monopoly phones since Amazon demonstrated on this device that it can encompass everything a person needs on a wrist. I was disappointed when I felt forced to move from 3G to 4G, especially because I had turned my portable tablet into a capable smartphone by taping a transmitter to its side, and it worked better than the phone I had to use. With this watch, though, I would choose to buy another one when it improves or wears out. That feels like real capitalism: a product I genuinely want, rather than one I feel pressured into buying. The smartphone in my pocket has fallen out A number of times its screen has cracked; it's been misplaced. It does not fit appropriately in a normal pocket so it is designed to slip and fall through vigorous testing by the monopoly. It's not as reliable as a phone function, roaming interrupting incompatible features It qualifies as a poor-level phone in comparison to an analog phone, whereas this Amazon watch it removes all those deficiencies and serves its primary function as a watch to tell you the time exceptionally well. Good for young people and old people. Reasonable for the healthy and the sick and disabled. I could even give it to my 91-year-old mother and she will not complain about trying to understand its primary use as whereas she cannot deal with a smartphone's primary use because it is not as presentable legacy compatible as this watch The time is easy to read can be set up without complications, although swiping your finger over the touch screen can cause confusion, like all touch screen devices seem to do, unlike a smartphone where you have to tap a bunch of visual buttons to get it to work so it covers all the legacy needs as well as the future needs; it is human-friendly for all ages The only issue I have is that I am diabetic and need glasses just to see script on a computer monitor and this watch can present so much information on its tiny screen that the letters require a magnifying glass to read and therefore I do need to push a button to get the details, but being a physical button, it doesn't enter complete artificial intelligence and demands some kind of virtual reality to pump your brain up; therefore, it covers range of different people, cultures, difficulties of health and functionalities.

I have used the Amazfit brand for a long time. It was traditionally my go to for an economical smartmatch that delivered battery life still measured by a single-digit but the metric shifted from day to month (“OG” Amazfit Bip had 45 day battery life!). Back then it was achieved with smaller screens and limited features (still had BPM and Sp02). Today however, the Bip MAX is a full-featured smartwatch with a bright and spacious AMOLED display, and still getting amazing battery life…double digits if measured by days and single digits if measured by weeks. The feature set has everything you could want. For my testing, I setup the wearable to to mirror my Notifications and capture my movements and remind me when I have been stationary too long. I wanted to MAXimize battery life. The ZEPP companion software is very extensive in its capabilities. Setting up the device does not require an account to turn and get the time, etc. But if you want integrations, a ZEPP account is necessary. Once in the watch, you can set it up as typical companion device or go all in and use ZEPP as a primary source for a multitude of features. Some like the Zepp Messenger app, which is supposed to combine all of your messages in one place from your selected apps, are not fully featured yet. As of now, only SMS is available. The Amazfit Bip MAX is a bit larger than I was expecting coming from a 44mm round display. However the build materials keep it light and it doesn't feel as large as it looks. Once jacket weather comes around I may need to rethink my attire game, but for summer livin' I haven't had any issues. The band is comfortable and breathable and should accommodate larger wrists. The strap attachment was a little tricky as the spring pin rotates in the band to slide out of the way when wearing, it just means it takes a couple tries to get it to seat. 11 days of use and I'm sitting at 52% battery so the 20 days battery life should hold true. This marks the 4th or 5th Amazfit product I have had as the “OG” Amazfit I bought 4 for myself and family members. And still have all of them, which do work when charged. I can easily recommend this wearable, I would recommend seeing it in person if possible as the size for smaller wrists may be too large.

I’ve been wearing a smartwatch for many years, so I was curious to see how the Amazfit Bip Max would compare, particularly since it offers many of the same types of health, fitness, notification, and smartwatch features at a much lower price. After almost a week with the Bip Max, I’ve been pleasantly surprised by how much it offers. Setting up the Bip Max was very straightforward, especially if you’ve used a smartwatch or fitness tracker before. After downloading the Zepp app for iOS or Android, you simply follow the on-screen instructions. The watch displays a QR code that makes pairing with your phone easy, and I was prompted to install a software update. The update took about five minutes. I was also impressed by the number of watch faces available. There are plenty of options to choose from, making it easy to customize the watch to your preferences. The touchscreen is very responsive, and navigating through the watch feels smooth and intuitive. The one area of setup that I didn’t particularly like was the watch band. Attaching the band was a little awkward, and I ultimately needed a small flat-head screwdriver to move the locking mechanism into place. Once attached, the included band also felt a little large on the underside of my wrist. Fortunately, Amazfit offers other replacement bands, and they’re reasonably priced. One of the things I noticed almost immediately was how responsive the Bip Max is with notifications. While testing the watch, I happened to be waiting for an Instacart delivery. Every time the shopper made a change to the order, I received a very noticeable haptic vibration on my wrist. In fact, I found the vibration more noticeable than what I typically experience with my other smartwatch. That’s a small thing, but it’s exactly the kind of feature that makes a device like this useful in everyday life. Battery life is one of the Bip Max’s biggest advantages. After almost a week, the watch is still at 56% battery. I have been switching back and forth between the Bip Max and my other smartwatch during testing, so I haven’t been wearing the Bip Max continuously. However, even when it wasn’t being actively worn, the battery drain at idle was minimal. I obviously haven’t had enough time to verify Amazfit’s maximum battery-life claim, but the battery performance I’ve seen so far is very encouraging. Coming from an traditional smartwatch, not having to think about charging the watch every day is a welcome change. The Bip Max provides a wide range of health and fitness tracking features, including heart rate, blood oxygen, sleep, stress, workouts, and other activity measurements. The stress tracking is particularly interesting because the watch uses physiological information such as heart-rate variability to estimate stress levels. I wouldn’t consider this a replacement for an actual blood-pressure monitor, but it can provide another way to observe changes in your body’s response throughout the day. The watch also works with Zepp Aura, which adds additional sleep and wellness insights, coaching, reports, and other personalized information. I like that Aura Premium is available for people who want more detailed analysis, but I don’t feel that it’s necessary to get value from the Bip Max. The watch itself provides plenty of useful tracking without requiring a subscription. The Bip Max isn’t an traditional smartwatch replacement in every respect. Other smartwatches have much deeper integration with the their respective phone operating systems, a larger app ecosystem, and more extensive communication features. However, the Bip Max does a lot of the things that many people actually want from a smartwatch: it tracks activity and health information, provides notifications, offers GPS and workout tracking, has a bright touchscreen, and provides excellent battery life. And it does all of that without requiring you to charge the watch every day. After almost a week of use, I’ve been impressed with the Amazfit Bip Max. Is it perfect? No, but it’s very useable and at its price point, I think it’s very capable for most smartwatch and fitness tracking functions.
