The ColorSoft does not offer especially vibrant colors, but having the option for full color is still convenient. Even when reading in black-and-white, the contrast, clarity, and white balance are much more pleasant than on my original Paperwhite, making it easier on the eyes for extended reading. I also appreciate that it is slightly larger than the Paperwhite while remaining very portable and capable of holding hundreds of books in a small device. My main wish is for a feature that allows listening to the Audible version while reading at the same time, with the text highlighted and advancing in sync—similar to how the Kindle app works on a phone. Currently, it’s still an either-or experience between Audible and Kindle reading, and I hope this can be improved in future versions. The settings are a bit easier to access and offer slightly better options than the Paperwhite. However, the overall improvement is not significant enough to justify the price difference, especially for the 32GB Special Edition, which still feels too expensive for what it adds. .
