So I got this CPU for a friend that's still on AM4 as an upgrade option since it would just be a drop in replacement. Honestly, especially as someone who does maintenance on computers all the time, I'm happy with the performance he was able to gain from just this upgrade. Also, the inclusion of a thermal pad also helps as someone who doesn't want to constantly repaste and do regular maintenance on someone else's machine. I just hate the state of things we're in where AM4 is still our best option for many people, but realistically I think this CPU is the limit of what people actually need for a gaming pc nowadays.

Great cpu. Went from 5800x to 5800x3d. All open world, mmo, or heavy sim games, gained a massive uplift. Runs great. Corsair 240mm cools it well. 80-84c under load, very stable -30 offset. Very happy. X570 board, 7900xt, 32gb ram. And all m.2 drives.

Works great replaced an older 5800x was concerned about the thermal pad included in the box however I have had no thermal issues while the system has been running nonstop for over a week average core temp is 54C with a CCD temp of 42C

Best cpu for the AM4. It really boosts graphics. I replace a Ryzen 5700x. With a good cpu heatsink I discarded the thermal pad it was too hot. With the incresed vram the pad doesnt provide enough cooling because the ram is stacked differently than the AM5 are. Thing puts the heat out. I went with Artcic MX-6 paste and a spirit cooler replacing the thermaltake 212. More surface area to the cpu 7 pipes insted of 4. I didnt want to invest more money into a water cooler for a already aged sytem. However the 5800x3d is a beast if you game like I do.

Easy to install, works great. Certainly worth the price tag!

Cpu works well, the carbon nanotube cooling is nice. was a bit skeptical but is 100% worth it for the thermals.

Honestly, in cpu intensive games, my frames went up by like 50% or more, but those 1% lows were so much higher that it provided a different level of smoothness. If you're on AM4 and don't have a x3d chip, this is a no brainer

With ram prices soaring to mortgage-like numbers, I had to stick to my trusty ole' AM4 build. First upgraded to 9070xt before gpu prices spiked and that was amazing. Then I saw how my 3600 started choking to death trying to keep up with the beast so I knew I needed this upgraded as well. Needless to say, this 5800x3D chip is fast, hot, and amazing. Had to upgraded my cooler to a Thermalright Phantom Spirit 120 to keep things cool, but wow!! If you need to stay on AM4, this definitely worth it.

I've only had it for a week but I have seen a great improvement in my FPSs and I have had zero issues with overheating. I replaced my AM 5 5600x and it was a great improvement in my gaming

NOT overclockable, However Eats games for breakfast with all that cache. Smoothed out my frame rate nicely. Had to wait for a second run to get mine but I'm glad I did.

Big ups to AMD for resurrecting this CPU in these times of grossly inflated component costs. If your a gamer and still running an AM4 board, this is your CPU. If matched with decent cooler, a modest GPU and a quick undervolt you can probably ride out the next few years without a massive cash dump to move to AM5. Just do all the things you would normally do, update drivers, firmware, bios and you'll be loving it. Best Buy...for this it was the best buy. Good price, free delivery, can't speak to customer service as it wasn't needed

Best cpu that you can get for your am4 motherboard

Still one of the best gaming CPUs available. Set up your pc with 32gb of ddr4 and with this CPUs you can keep up with all the modern games when paired with a good gpu.

Title says it all. Best CPU for any am4 guaranteed. If you're gaming on an am4 rig, you need this processor
