The down and dirty is that if your build is 100% for gaming, buying this CPU is merely a flex. However, the more heavily your workload includes productivity, the more this CPU makes sense and is worth every penny. In other words, if you use your machine for earning income, it's a no-brainer. I actually started my July 2025 build with the 9950X3D and upgraded to this on launch. There is a noticeable improvement when running multiple platforms simultaneously, as it eliminates all the Windows scheduling issues. If your decision rests solely on the benchmarking "numbers" reported by various content creators who are advising against this CPU for "value" reasons, you might miss out on an opportunity to get through heavy workloads faster. The people who need this CPU will make up the price difference very quickly through increased efficiency.

My system has a Asus Prime x670 wifi motherboard, with 128 gigs of DDR 5 6000, Kingston Fury Ram, Ram operates at 5200 MT/s, with a whole lot of trial and error getting it stable(setting ohms and such in bios). My GPU is a 4080. I had a 9950X. All Ai that I questioned said I would only get a 2% performance increase at best. I was getting 180 FPS on average in BF6 at 1440p. With this CPU I now average 220 FPS. It was worth every single penny. HIGHLY recommend.

Far greater perfomance gains than what online reviews are showing. I upgraded from a 9950x3d to this 9950x3d2 and can overclock further with the new chip and perfomance gains have been greater than expected.

It’s a fast cpu, but is most likely not worth the steep price.
