I am very pleased with my purchase. I got this on sale for 200 dollars, and it is well worth it. The 521 seems to be advertised a bit more and seems to go on bigger sales, but to me having 2 USB-C ports and the slightly higher battery capacity makes it a better overall choice for me. My intended use case is to power a small portable car fridge (Pictured with power station) when the car is not on during my road trips so that our car battery does not drain, but the refrigerator continues to operate when the car is off. This is a really slick product in that you can use it while you charge it. You can also use the included 100 watt charger (AC or DC car charger), in addition to a USB-C input of 60W netting you a total of 160W of fast charging if you use both the USB-C and the power adaptor at the same time. The fact that they include a power adaptor for home and car use is a fantastic choice. Long term I plan to Purchase a gas generator and 100W solar panel to help this product serve as an emergency use item for around the house. I am particularly impressed by the fact that the display measures both electrical input into the device, and output simultaneously. This gives you a very accurate understanding of what your devices are using, and also it projects out how long the battery will last based on the current draw from the battery. The integrated light strip is perfect. It is not insanely bright, and it really does not need to be. For those that are curious, it draws 3W from the battery. While this power station cannot power more power thirsty appliances (there are heavier, larger and more expensive options for that), the 522's smaller and more portable size makes it a great starter when getting into emergency preparedness. The 10-year heavy use life expectancy of the battery makes this a better buy. In all, at 200 dollars, this was a tremendous value, and I am confident that it will serve my needs quite well.

Exceptional performance, with very nice grip to hold it, i used some other portable power station, but this is one of the best product i ever used. The best feature is, it tells on the display, how many watts the charging product using.

Before talking about this great power station, let me alert you to instructions you need to follow to the letter. At the bottom of page 2 of the manual you are instructed to charge the power station to 100% before using. Mine arrived at about 80%, so I ignored the instructions and then spent a half hour trying to figure out why it wouldn't deliver any power. I finally noticed a hard to read sticker on the back of the unit that said to "Activate" the unit you first had to recharge it (completely). After doing this the power station worked perfectly. This power station is well suited for home power outages, travel, and camping. It has a good collection of outlets to serve most needs. I particularly like the included "night light". It draws only 3W, and provides adequate lighting for a small area - see my photos of it in a dark kitchen on and off. It can provide about 62 hours of light if nothing else draws power. This can be very helpful during an evening power outage. The unit is relatively small and lightweight, making it useful on long car trips for small items needing power the car can't provide. Finally, it is clear that this power station can be an essential item on camping trips! I find this power station to be a very good buy.

Small but mighty. Have for an emergency situation but also use often to charge devices when in unconventional locations.

I love it. We experience random power outages. So having this comes on a clutch. I even take it out to the field and the beach.

Provides a back up for charging all of your important devices. Highly recommended everyone purchase this. You never know when you might need it.

I got this power station to power my telescope during star parties and so far it has not disappointed me. Roughly it lasts me about 6 hours with the whole rig connected

BACKGROUND: Most everyone (ok, techno-geeks) at some point in time considers a backup power supply system, hopefully before power goes out. Be it a full blown diesel-powered whole house backup system, to a much smaller manageable portable power station similar to this Anker/SOLIX 522. Today there are numerous solutions available depending upon one’s specific requirements, with this being one option. In my home, all of our higher end electric equipment is connected & protected with some kind of Uninterruptable Power Supply (UPS) system that will supply limited AC power when our power company cannot. These are excellent for the momentary loss of power keeping our gateway, router, access points, internet, phone, and HDTV operational. Adding a device like this Anker 522 Portable Power Station is just another safeguard for proactively being prepared for the unexpected power loss. And it can be used quite effectively for shorter periods of time when our UPS power is exhausted during an emergency. POWER ON THE GO: Now for most users, the ANKER 522 would be a remote choice for 3C (Computer, Communication, and Consumer Electronics) equipment. These compact units are great for road traveling, RV’s, camping, fishing, drones, busking, standalone music systems, or any form of outdoor activity that would benefit from the charging and/or running of lower powered electronic equipment. And no doubt, I have good intended uses for powering these 3C devices too. SETUP: Couldn’t be easier. Take out of the box, plug in the power supply charger, and view the informational display. The 522 was 84% out the box and took about 15 minutes to reach 100% charge. Once fully charged, plug something in, and as HE-MAN used to exclaim “I Have The Power!” DISPLAY: Most all of the display ICON’s are self-explanatory. But I highly recommend reading the short manual that provides additional informational detail on the 522 operational features with a few tips thrown in. Being able to view the actual power being drawn, coupled with the estimated remaining power available, is a very cool and useful feature. CHARGING: Having multiple methods to charge this power station is another welcomed feature. You can use the included AC adapter, or the 12-Vdc car adapter, or even charge with the USB-C PD port. And using two at once will increase the charging watts that will shorten the overall unit charge time. I tested with a USB-C/PD adapter, along with the AC Adapter, and was able to obtain a 162 Watt charging input (shown on the display). And if money is no object, go for the 625 Solar Panel option if you plan on living outdoors off the grid for a while. PORTS: I appreciate the inclusion of a second USB-C port and just one of the older USB-A ports; smart move and useful upgrade vs. the 521. Also, the dual AC outlets, along with the 12-VDC car adapter (AKA cigarette lighter outlet) should cover most all charging situations. TESTING: I first had to use with my older Sony 55XBR HDTV just to see how long it would supply power before shutting down. That lasted over 2 hours and still had 13% power remaining. Then recharged and used with a Dell 24” AIO (i5415) computer. Lasted over 5 hours watching Netflix movies and internet surfing. Recharged the power station and used with a G15 laptop along with a charging Canon EOS camera battery pack, then our iPad. Zero issues using as a power source, or using to charge my assortment of 3C devices. Fully functioned as designed and advertised. RATING: I realize the Anker - SOLIX 522 may not be the most powerful power station available. Considering the 10-year estimated premium LiFePO4 battery life cycle, coupled with the 5-year Anker warranty, and that is pretty hard to beat. For its intended designed purpose, compact size, one of the smartest informational displays available, and its $300 price point, you can’t really go wrong with the Anker-SOLIX 522. Therefore, I believe it earned a solid 5-Star Rating for my intended uses. And if you are able to catch it on sale, then add a 6th Star! GROUNDED OUTLET 101: Please realize none of these small power stations are able to provide a true 3-Prong grounded outlet. They only convert an internal DC supply to an AC Hot and Neutral configuration. To obtain the 3rd prong earth ground, one would need to drive an 8-foot copper clad steel stake into the planet (possibly more than one depending on moisture content) and then connect a 10-gauge copper wire to the third ground prong. And that is just not going to happen... Therefore, anyone who thinks a competitor’s similar unit is “grounded” and therefore safer to use, because of what looks like a 3-prong AC outlet, is just sadly mistaken.

It’s ok was using it for mine and my wife’s cpaps now it shut off and won’t run over a hour so not. A good product in an emergency shuts off al the time now

I got this power station for times when I travel and extended summer nights outdoors. Some places list this as a generator, it is technically not that because it does not make energy, but it is a storage unit, unless you purchase the compatable solar panels that attach to this to charge it. The cost for the panels is almost double the unit itself. Maybe someday, but for now, a power bank it will stay. I have charged two laptops from about 25% to full on this and then also ran a speaker system usb, and ran a fan for an hour and this is sill at about 60%. Holds a lot of energy. The computers I charged one by usbc, the other with it's regular 3 prong cord. This has 2 plug ins but if you have a grounded cord (3 prongs) you can only charge 1 of those at a time, or 2 non grounded, or 1 grounded and 1 non grounded. You also have 12volt car adapter to charge this along with the regular cord. I have not charged anything via the 12v adapter slot, but usb and usbc work well. You can actually charge this unit by usbc slot also. The light on the front of it does give enough light in the dark to see a nice area around this. The display is clear and easy to read. The size is good, I can stash it in the floor if the van when I travel next to portable air compressor and other safety kit stuff iI have run a laptop when the built in outlet in the van is occupied by my kids. So far, I have no complaints and I think it will get used a quite a bit. It is something I have done without and just lived charging from location to location, but with my kids doing more with computers and tech gadgets, this can save the crowded overnight outlets in hotels and lodgings if we can charge stuff along the way. I just have to charge this nightly instead of 3-4 individual items. I do reccomend this.

I live in a rural area with frequent power outages due to downed trees, which typically takes hours to days to get repaired. Honestly, I wish I had the Anker SOLIX power station much earlier, as it allows me to power everything needed to keep working though these outages. In the box is the power station, power cord, and car charging cable. Setup is plug and play, I did charge it out of the box, as it arrived at 90% battery. The features available starting from left to right are: car socket (12v cigarette charger style), with on/off button, display on/off button, 2 x USB-C ports, a USB-A port, two AC outlets, to include a spot for a grounded 3 prong plug (note portable units are not grounded by design), AC output on/off button, power saver slider, and below all of this a light bar sufficient to see where you are going in the dark. One interesting feature is that if you hold the light bar on/off button for two seconds, the light will go into an SOS mode where it flashes Morse code. There is also a DC input port on the back for vehicle or solar panel charging. Note that the solar panel is not included, but compatible with most 11V - 28V panels with the correct DC connection. The SOLIX is powered via LiFePO4, which are EV class batteries, and comes with a five year warranty, and claims of a 10 year lifespan. As far as usage, in the past 10 days of testing I've had two power outages. During the first power outage, I was successfully able to plug in my laptop, wireless hotspot, and phone to work for the last three hours of the day, with the power station still having battery left afterwards. The second outage was overnight, so while I wasn't prepared, I was able to quickly grab the power station and set it up to power my husband's CPAP machine and charge our phones, I'm estimating that total usage time was four hours and there we no issues in charging. Other features to note are low and high temp alerts, remaining battery time left, current wattage in/out during use, and the fact that it will stop powering a device once the device is fully charged. Normal recharging of the power station is 2.5 to 3.5 hours, depending on charging method. Other than the power outages, I have used the power station during trips and while outside at the teen's sports events. So far I've been able to charge 2x drones, phones, recharge my wireless hotspot, demo a 3d printer from the bed of my truck, run a powered drink cooler, recharge various batteries, and work remotely (phone, computer, hotspot). At any one time I typically have both AC ports and a USB-C port in use which has routinely been somewhere between 3 to 5 hours prior to needing to recharge the power station. Overall I'm really happy with the power station, the small footprint and portability has given me more flexibility to work from where ever, keep critical things going during a power outage, and charge batteries on the go.

This is one of those devices that you don’t realize how handy they are until you have one! It measures about 8 1/2” x 8 1/2” x 6” including the built in carry handle. I picked this up with the intention of using it to recharge quadcopter batteries in the field when I’m not near a vehicle. Once I got it, of course I went around the house looking for what else I could power with it. One of the dads in our scout troop uses one when we’re camping to power his CPAP machine. It lasts one night so on a weekend campout he has to recharge it with the vehicle adapter. I used it to power the 12v inflater for our air bed through the car socket. Much easier to fill the air bed in the tent than to fill it at the truck and lug a queen size air bed through the woods to the campsite. I found that when charging my phone, I didn’t have to turn off the phone’s battery saver option where it delays final charging until just before you typically use it. Since the USB ports on this device turn on when needed it will supply the juice when the phone draws it, unlike the smaller power banks I have that shut off when my phone pauses charging at 80%. Seems very sensitive, the USB-A port was able to detect that I had plugged in an Apple Watch and began charging, those draw less than one watt. Besides charging phones, tablets, laptops and watches, I found I can recharge the 12v batteries for my cordless tools since their 120v charger only draws around 35 watts. That will be handy for when we have to hike in to do a build project. Takes about 10% of the charge and about 30 min to charge one 12v tool battery. If you plug in an appliance that draws too much power, like, say if someone plugged in a drip coffee maker, the device will just switch off the outlet so it won’t damage itself. The LCD display on the device has a gauge to show how much charge is left in the unit, the power draw of the device(s) that are plugged in, the wattage being put back in when you’re charging it, and an approximate time of how much longer it can power the current load. It also has a light bar on the front that can be on or flash an SOS message. This power station is capable of being recharged by a 100 watt solar panel, it just needs to have an 8 mm (DC 7909) male connector on it and provide between 11-28v DC. It comes with a 120v power brick and a 12v car plug. It can also be recharged through one of the USB C ports, cable not included. It’s virtually silent in use, it does have a small cooling fan that will cycle to keep the innards cool. Never heard it just charging off the USB sockets, but it did cycle when using the 120v outlet.

Power is unreliable these days. Between hurricanes, snow and ice storms, and more, you can lose power randomly for any length of time, and having power banks that can handle more than just a phone or tablet are becoming a necessity. The Anker Solix 522 won’t exactly power a full size fridge or a house for a day, but in terms of common items and appliances of lower wattages, it’s an extremely handy device to have ready. The Solix 522 by default has 299Wh of power, so it can power many smaller items like of course, phones, tablets, and small power efficient TVs and lower wattage tools, laptops, fans, and more along those lines; yes, even many CPAP machines (depending on settings and wattage needs). It comes with an oddly large power brick, which plugs into the back of the unit. A digital readout on the front lets you know in percentage what the charge is as well as how quickly the 522 is draining when you’re using it, as well as how much power is coming in, going out, what ports are being used, etc. At full load continuously running, the estimate is that it will run for about 1.5 hours, but that can vary depending on exactly what you’re powering at basically 300watts without stopping at all. The batteries are “LiFeP04”, a specific class type of lithium battery that allegedly has a longer lifespan, allowing for more charges and recharges before giving out (est up to 10 years per Anker). There are various safety features that scan for overheating as well. You can use up to 6 ports at the same time… 2 each USB-C ports, two A/C ports, a car port, and USB-A (I would have loved to see a DC out port, though). Charging from zero to full takes about 3.5 hours if you’re using A/C power to recharge the 522. You can use USB-C or the included car adapter as well, and you can use various solar panels (not included) as well – a solar panel will vary widely depending on their input charge, but typically they average around 6 hours, give or take, of direct sun to charge a device of this size and capacity, although Anker says you can get up to 80% charge in around 3 hours with a typical panel (a DC-7909 male connector on the panel is required). If you truly want a small portable “generator”, investing in a solar panel is a must to be fully off the grid, otherwise you’re reliant on a car or A/C to recharge. I have used the 522 so far to keep a laptop charged up when using it on the deck outside, and to power a mid-sized fan in a workshop area as well as a small saw. A feature called “Surgepad” allows you to plug in a single device of up to around 600watts, but this will of course drain it a lot faster and when I tried it, it shut the machine off (?) – but good to know it’s there if you need it (and it works correctly when you try it). They tout it’s use for a coffee maker of curling iron, but in all honesty, in a power outage, I don’t think those devices would be my priority, but you might find yourself in a situation where you may need to use certain tools briefly. I tested it out on a heated throw I have that’s very low power (45watts on low per hour) and it actually ran all night. Anker is to me, a trusted brand by now, and I have several of their products. So far I can’t find anything major about the Solix 522 to complain about except if I were being very picky, the oversized power brick – it does what it’s made to do, and is a reasonable price for what you get, and I’d like to see a proper 3-prong outlet on it and a DC-out for DC items, which is why I knock one star off. Handy to have a couple of these around for basic needs during outages! I do recommend this.

This Anker Solix Power Station is pretty cool. I enjoyed testing it out and seeing all the possible uses of this thing from using it while camping or to having some power during an outage. Being here in Texas and knowing how our grid acts when bad weather comes around, this will be a very nice item to have when it comes time to charge phones and other devices during an outage. I'm sure this could even be used to power a TV during and outage, so if you have an antenna as well, you can stay aware of any changes in the weather, etc. It also has a very nice, bright built-in light as well. I like that there is multiple ways to charge the power station so it can be used in a wide variety of situations. It comes with multiple plugs including one for your cars 12 volt socket so you can charge this using your car or truck. There is also a 12 volt car socket on the station itself so you can use power adapters that you may already have to power even more devices. One thing I found out during my time messing around with it was that I could even charge the Power Station using my usb-c phone charger which I think is a pretty cool feature. Overall, I think this Anker Solix Power Station is a great thing to have just in general. I think the value is pretty fair and there are many bundle options online if you want to buy things like the solar panel if you are an avid camper, hiker, or outdoorsman that would find the additional benefit from having that. It's a nice thing even just to keep with you in the trunk in case you ever get stranded and find yourself needing power to make a phone call or power any tools, etc.

I have been using a battery backup I got from an online retailer for about a year. The capacity of the 2 are the same. This battery is so much better. This is smaller in size and lighter than even a battery from a year ago. This also charges faster. Much faster. There is a single charger for the back. For front charging there is a 12 volt, 2 110, 2 USB C and a regular USB. There is a light included. Based on the battery indicator it would stay on for 6 hours. There is a formula you can use online to determine what your device uses and how long it will last. There are on/off buttons for the plugs so you don’t drain power for items plugged in but you don’t need to charge. For charging I only have a wall plug in available. Mine was charging over 100w. So about 3 hours to fully charge. I would definitely suggest the solar panels you can buy as an add on for longer term usage or for camping. There is a 5 year warranty on this. So make sure you register your device. There is no app to install

I've had back-up battery packs in the past, enough to charge my phone a few times, but I've never had something like this that could really come in handy in an emergency. I've always wanted the peace of mind to keep devices charged and the home lit in case of an extended power outage, and this generator does the trick. While you won't be running many heavy duty appliances with it like HVAC systems, what it will do for you is keep your emergency devices powered up (phones, tablets, etc), run most smaller appliances, and give you multiple methods to keep the generator itself charged up. It can be charged by your standard electrical outlet, the auxiliary power outlet in your car (cable included), or by using a USBC charging cable (not included) that you may already have in your home for other devices. There is a 4th way to charge this generator if you own a solar panel and also the necessary adapter/connector to plug in to the DC port. I have a solar panel but need to shop for the right adapter. Things I liked: - The LED light helps you see what you are doing in the event of an emergency (which is probably why you have this device to begin with). It is also very handy for lighting up a small area like a tent when camping. - The display provides you with some very useful information including estimated time to recharge, how many watts are being used at a given time, and estimated remaining power % based on current power usage. For instance, when I have the battery near full charge and turn the LED light on, it tells me I have about 59 hours of power left. - The power saving mode is a welcome feature to keep you from overcharging or wasting power with devices that are left plugged in. The charging is automatically stopped when devices reach capacity. - The 5 year warranty is pretty impressive. - Back-up power without needing to fire up a gas generator? Sign me up! This is an excellent option for anyone looking to have a small safety net in their home that can not only provide light, but also keep your most important devices and many appliances working in a pinch.

This is my 2nd Anker Solix, the 1st is the 521 but the 522 is rated at 300W (vs. 250 for the 521) although both are 299WHr. I really like how compact they are (both are same size). I keep them for emergency power. I've had the 521 for over a year now. They recommend topping it up after 90 days of no-use, but I find the 521 still has 100% charge at 90 days! Amazing! And since the batteries are rated for 3000 charge cycles, I'll probably be able to use these for more than the 10 years they indicate. I've used the 521 at least every 90 days and drained it to 20% then recharged it to 100%. The 522 I've had for about 90 days now, and it holds a charge the same as the 521. Both are fantastic devices and can power just about any small appliance (not coffee machines, but I've never tried it myself). I really like the handle and the overall design. I've been a fan of Anker for a long time, I have wireless ear buds and several smaller power banks, and both the 521 and 522 match my expectations of the quality I've found in all Anker products. If you see it on sale, get it, you won't regret it.

I am using this basically as a UPS for my work computer setup. I live in an area where power flickers or outages are common. Previously, my monitor, speakers, etc would not be usable - only my laptop (as long as it has battery life left). Now, I will get about 2-3 hours of power in the event of a power outage. Fans on this device are audible, but not too loud. I have been in a Zoom meeting using power from this device. No one noticed the extra noise. Bonus for me - I can easily pick this up and move it elsewhere in my house. It is not very heavy. Before you buy, I would recommend trying to get an idea of how much power you might need and for how long. I'd consider a 300 watt device the bare minimum for my current use case.

Portability is becoming a game changer and Anker has really answered the call to this need. Since opening this portable power station I have been able to fully utilize it in the garage, next to the camp fire and even at the cabin. I really enjoy how this is built with a build in handle and multiple output options from standard 2 prong plug in, to USB to even USB-C. I have used this to charge my cellphone while being outdoors too which has been very nice. The digital display tells me where the power level is and give me a good indication as to how much more juice I have left. One thing that I had wondered about is if it was very heavy or if it would get bumped over and possibly break a USB charge head.... there has been zero issues with this keeping balance or tipping over. It stays put. All in all I would highly recommend this for several reasons but primarily due to its ability to power a variety of devices with a variety of charging options. I am no longer stuck with requiring my power station to only use a regular USB plug in. Highly recomended!
