A: You have to have power source to charge with this device. Here is my solution for using it as a hub during charging. What I have found out if you plug a 60 watt battery block into the PD port it will charge whatever is in the 3 USB ports. This is the setup that I use for traveling so as to not have to carry so many different charging blocks for various charging needs for USB devices. I use the BestBuy USB 60 watt charger with this device. So for the 60 watt charger will allow Windows PCs to be charged as well via it's USB-C port. I also have USB-C to USB-A adapters as well so that I am able to charge my USB-C devices as well. Then should I need to I can use this hub to connect to my cellphone, GoPro as well as other items to connect to my USB-C port of the computer as well via the hub all at one time. As mention in other posts. the device is built to last and doesn't feel cheaply made. For the price that purchased if for it was a good investment seeing how many things today are USB powered with more coming out every day. I also purchase extra cables made specially for the 60 watt charging block just to be sure that they were not some cheaply made knock offs. So if you are looking for a compact solution for your charging needs as well as a USB hub for your computer. Get the BB 60 watt USB charger, Adapters for using USB-C to USB-A to use with this Anker device and a couple of extra cables and you have the solution to your travel needs.

Got this with a new MacBook Pro Laptop and need USB-A ports for a real keyboard (extended), external HD, and a mouse cause these old hands don't have the touch for the pad.

More than a hub its a converter for USB-A charging
Ok, didn't realize this was a hub for multiple ports when I first purchase it. What I did find is that it can be used with a battery pack as a multiple port charging hub when connected to my 20K battery pack. As a part of my travel kit for charging all of my devices on the go it will allow me to carry this, my battery pack along with different cables to charge my cellphone, smart watch an battery pack, as well as a laptop using a 60 watt USB charger block (BestBuy brand). By using this as connection to my 60 USB charger block with pass through to the USB C I can charge my laptop while charging my cell phone, watch as well as batteries for other devices using the USB A ports. When I purchase my charging block I did purchase cables to convert USB C to USB A. So this allows me to charge either USB A or C type devices. When not using it as charging hub I can then use it as a regular hub to connect other devices to a laptop at home or away such as cell phone to download pictures taken during vacation etc. So far it is more than just a hub for a network cable USB A connection and USB A type devices.

Affordable and reliable hub
One of the quickest ways to add additional connectivity options to your USB-C/Thunderbolt Apple device. I use this interchangeably with my 2022 iPad Pro, my 2020 MacBook Pro M1, and my 2023 MacMini M2 Pro. Power delivery is as advertised, as is the bandwidth and throughput of each of the available USB ports. Which thing is built like tank, small completely reliable. It is an essential tool in my digital toolbox.
