A: yes as you have to connect the battery for first use anyways and then you will see that the battery comes out and can be replaced
Q: What ah size Battery does this use? ... Why isn't it in the spec.? ... Lead acid or gel?
A: The version I have the battery is no longer replaceable. APC updated the unit to use batteries that are not replaceable. Not sure what the size was in the older versions.
